The hotel completed a $25 million makeover last May and it's still fresh. We had a bay view room on the sixth floor with balcony. Beautiful pool. Excellent staff, from bellman to maid to front office. Our room was very clean. Only issue (and it's minor) is that the bathroom is small - toilet and tub in a small space... more

Back in March, I put a bid on Priceline.com for a 4 star hotel in Sarasota area. I wound up 'winning' this hotel with a $63 bid (therefore the '5' rating for 'value'). The service was outstanding, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. When I checked in, the front desk staff member offered a no charge upgrade to a... more

What I mean by typical beach hotel is that the rooms have a slight mildewy smell like most hotels that are located on the water or a beach, but if you can get over that the hotel is just fine. It's in a great location and it has its own marina, which is why we stayed there. I have a... more

Thank you for your recent review of our property. The Hyatt Regency Sarasota prides itself on the service and maintenance of the hotel and we have recently undergone a $22 million dollar renovation making major improvements in all areas. I am sorry to hear that not everything was to your liking. We have found that room keys can become demagnetized...

I've stayed at the Hyatt many times while traveling for business and the recent renovations are great. Love the updated look and feel of the hotel. Location is okay. You need a car to get to any dining and shopping, which i normally find frustrating, but in the summer I don't really want to be walking around outside in Florida.... more

Recently, a group of 6 boats with families all stayed at the Hyatt Regency Sarasota. All 6 boats chose to leave this marina the next day. First, their waterside restaurant was vacant and only the lobby was available for breakfast. All restaurants for dinner in the area are more than a mile walking distance. Second, the pool had a very... more

Thank you for your recent review. Unfortunately our Boat house restaurant has been closed now for over a year since our $22 million dollar renovation. Our new restaurant Currents is located in the main building and the rate that you booked included the breakfast for FREE! We keep a record of all guest complaints and for the weekend your group...

We loved our stay at the Hyatt. The staff couldn't do enough for you and were all very friendly and cheerful. The rooms were lovely, beds comfortable, maybe sheets were a trifle starchy as one reviewer said, but it wasn't a problem. I loved the decor, lots of warm cream, with zingy lime and pinks cushions, etc. We were offered... more

This hotel was situated in a fantastic area. Just a 5min or less drive to Siesta Key. You can easilly walk to "downtown" Sarasota. Although, walking at night seemed a bit uncomfortable due to the lack of lights on the streets. If you are with a group of people then I wouldn't mind the walk. The hotel itself is gorgeous.... more

My wife and I stayed at the hotel the second week of March and I couldn't be more pleased with my experience. I stayed at the hotel before the renovation and the transformation was like night and day. The colors are wonderful, and the new restaraunt is fantastic! Who knew that buffalo wings and a salad could be so contemporary!... more

We had a great room with a balcony with a fantastic view of Sarasota bay. The room was large, bright, very comfortable and well equipped. The hotel is pretty well located near to bars and restaurants in the centre of Sarasota (10 minute walk), but there is some vacant land next to the hotel at the moment that I am... more
