Stayed here for 2 nights in August as a base for our visit to the area. Martha and Jeri were fantastic on our arrival, ensuring our room was ready and even lending us beach chairs and towels for the duration of our visit- such a nice touch. The room was ideal, with a large bedroom area and separate, well equipped... More

We spent a week at this hotel in early August (2015). The hotel has new owners (as of 2015) and they are very keen to make a go of this hidden little gem. We met the new owners along with Jeri - who helps them look after the property and who is based just next door - and they are... More

This is the perfect place to stay in Sarasota as it's close to everything downtown, the rooms are beautiful and comfortable and the owner Kathi is so helpful and sweet. The art deco decor is great with lots of windows to let the natural light it. Very clean. Can't wait to return.

We read so many contradictory reviews of this hotel, we went Into it, cautiously optimistic. We loved it, but we understand that it may not be everyone's cup of tea. It was wonderfully decorated & charming. This is no cookie cutter hotel room with echos of the 1920's architecture throughout the building. We loved having our own kitchen which was... More

The Ranola is an unusual hotel in a 1920s building, very well located in the centre of Sarasota, within easy walking distance of restaurants, shops and the historic area. The hotel has a small number of rooms and is on three stories. It doesn’t have a lift so those with mobility problems would need to be on the ground floor.... More

We were pleasantly surprised upon arrival at Ranola. Quaint lodging right in the heart of downtown Sarasota. Complete kitchenette with everything you need to make your stay comfortable, even a "shaker" and glasses for refreshments. Only 1 block off of Main Street and if you head west you will come across shopping, restaurants, and places to satisfy your thirst.

We're not fans of big, chain hotels, and stay in smaller properties when we can. I wish I had found the Hotel Ranola for our 2014 Sarasota trip - but better late than never! Our suite was spacious, clean and comfortable with enough of the little things to get us to come back: lots of natural light, vanity/dressing room area... More

We loved the Ranola. We spent 4 nights in a large ground floor suite. The hotel is a converted small 3-floor apartment building in downtown Sarasota. It has just 9 rooms which are all converted apartments. It also has another 9 apartments, mainly on the top floor, that have permanent tenants. Our groundfloor suite had a bedroom with a make-up... Hotel Ranola is an Art Deco Paradise and a marvelous choice for historic lodging in downtown Sarasota! Charm abounds, as well as plenty of comfort and hospitality. The location is ideal for exploring the city of Sarasota and the nearby beaches. Parking is free and the building is quite secure; as a female, traveling alone, I felt very comfortable in... More

Pleasant small 9 room hotel on a quiet street well located walk to downtown Sarasota, great restaurants and shops, 10 minutes walk to Whole Foods. Art Deco apartments built in the 1920's. Recently converted with all mod cons, full bathrooms with black and white tiles, eggplant walls, trendy rugs, comfortable bedding, small but well stocked kitchen, with coffee maker. Flat screen...
