We stayed three nights ( one senior and one 4 yr old included) and our activities remained simple: morning stroll at the beach, shelling, playing in the sand, swimming in perfectly warm and calm gulf waters, back to the resort, into the pool, and finally, inside the apt. I didn't have a single complaint about how I've spent my days.... More

We were not expecting much but were thrilled with the accommodations. The room was spotless, the beach nice and it was near Lighthouse Point which was a plus. Though this is an older resort it appeared that our room at least had recently been given a makeover. The beds afforded an excellent night sleep which was welcome after a day... More

Overall: Overall our stay was enjoyable and quiet. Fixtures and appliances are old but still in good working order. We traveled with two adults and two teens. All enjoyed the stay. Pros: Clean, close to beach (path is literally behind the unit and then right out to beach), friendly staff, working fridge, microwave, and stove. Florida resident rate (with a... More

Our family of 3 including an 8 year old stayed in C-20. The unit was nice, it is on the first floor in the back corner which allowed for privacy. The unit has a screened in porch which is mostly shaded due to the foliage. We enjoyed sitting outside in the evenings enjoying the surroundings without getting attacked by bugs.... More

We stayed for one night in a semi-detached cottage across the road from the resort and were enchanted by the beauty of the location. Check-in was friendly and efficient and we were made to feel at home despite not staying in the resort itself. The furniture and fit-out of the cottage were delightful thirties style with a veranda and gardens... More

Been coming to the island since 1985 & after I discovered The Colony Resort, I only stay here. This is my 11 stay! Staff is wonderful! Penny & Manny so nice & friendly. Clean! Comfy! Great location ! Price can't be beat! Avoid the Bubble Room in Captiva. Try the Island Cow for lunch & the Sanbel Cafe serves a... More

I was told by a local friend who recommended this older place that is was very friendly and also by another friend that they use to stay there years ago. I parked in the parking lot which was empty and very quiet. I went into the office to ask for directions to the beach. I wanted to see how far... More

My stay at Colony Resort was March 26-30, 2014 in unit C16. PROS: Penny and Manny were absolutely wonderful! Very pleasant and accommodating. They let us check in early and out late, answered all of my many questions about the island and area attractions, made sure we were comfortable and knew everything we needed to to have a great stay.... We stayed at Colony Resorts (Unit C-53) for one night this past weekend. The room was nicely decorated and very clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Short walk to the beach which was sparsely populated, many nice shells to pick up. The gulf water was a bit chilly so we checked out the pool, nice and warm. This property... More
