Loved Tarpon Tale Inn! Paid $105 a night for a lovely room with small patio. Microwave, coffee maker, small fridge -- everything we needed. Comfortable and convenient. Short walk to uncrowded beach. Love the plants, flowers and wildlife on this island. Can't wait to return.

The rooms exactly as per the website the photos are honest, comfortable without being snazzy and unnecessary accoutrements...pretty much like Sanibel really. Good kitchenette (but a bit light on utensils if you are thinking of "really" self catering, no dishwasher) and TV and bedroom area, perfectly acceptable bathroom (no tub). And then the good outside stuff. Free bikes, brollies and... More

Room was as pictures indicated. We stayed in the Sea Shell 1 with nice seating area and full kitchen. The bed was comfortable. There are eight choices for rooms. We liked the close walk to the beach. Chairs, umbrellas, etc were provided for our use. Bicycles were also available to use on the many bike trails. We liked the shelling,... More

This place is just fantastic. From my very first email correspondence with the owners I couldn’t wait to arrive and they were so friendly it made it seem like they couldn’t wait to see us. Upon arrival they’d left a really lovely welcome note for us, and as it was our honeymoon had put some sparkling wine and beer in... More

I've stayed here twice, both in late winter. I'd readily stay here again the next time I go to Sanibel. The Tarpon Tale is a house or maybe two houses joined, and it's been divided up nicely. Everything was clean and well maintained. The location was great, either for walking or riding a bike. This is one of those wonderful,... More

Small property in best location of any on the island. Suites are modest but roomy and clean. Dawn, the owner, is pleasant and accommodating. Bicycles, beach chairs, umbrellas and beach towels are provides. Whether on bike or walking, minutes to an uncrowded beach. Quite locale. Minutes drive from the busier areas of shops and restaurants.

First of all, do not know why this is listed as a B&B--it is not. Stayed here for 3 nights and were disappointed. There are adjacent rooms on 3 sides, and the paper thin walls allow you to hear almost everything in the rooms surrounding you. The décor looked tacky, and I could not describe it as clean. On a... Thank you for taking the time to review our inn - we sincerely apologize that your expectations were not met. The Trip Advisor categories can be confusing as their category of "B&B and Inns" does not differentiate between these two property types. On our website we try to make it clear that we are in the Inn, rather than B&B... More

This is my second time to stay at the Tarpon Tale Inn and I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else! It is a small inn with private rooms and front porch areas. They provide a refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, plates, cups, silverware, paper towels, and the items needed to wash them. You can change your towels or anything else at... More

We liked the slowness of the island, whole families riding their bikes, and a lower speed zone for cars. We liked everything about the inn. It was close enough to walk to the beach, a place to wash my shells, a cool, clean place to stay and friendly hosts. We loved the birdlife and the flowering trees and shrubs. We... More
