We enjoyed our stay at the Tarpon Tale Inn and stayed in the Birdhouse which was a charming efficiency that gave us everything we needed. The owner was very friendly and gave us a grand tour upon arrival! She clued us in to wonderful place's to go and eat (The Lighthouse Cafe across the street). The great thing about the... More

My husband and I stayed here during a fall trip for our 20th anniversary. The owner couldn't have been nicer. Clean, reasonable rates, charming, comfortable room, beach chairs and umbrellas provided, just a short walk to the beach, across from Lighthouse Cafe but lots of landscaping so feels private. The only drawback is no pool.

The owners, although, I never met in person, are wonderful people. I spoke to them on the phone before my visit and when I first arrived and they were extremely helpful on both occasions. The Inn is quite self-serve which is actually a nice change of place - you don't feel like you are staying at a hotel, you feel... More

We stayed here 4 nights and found it a refreshing stay after several weeks in hotels. Having a full kitchen was perfect for some meals in. Beach chairs, towels, and shelling equipment were provided, as well a bicycles. We also enjoyed the beach which was just a short walk away.

What a delightful little inn! We stayed in the Tarpon Cottage as we needed 2 separate sleeping arrangements. Usually I'll stay on the couch but this cute little cottage had a little cozy alcove room that was just perfect and even gave me a little privacy. It would be great for anyone traveling with a child as well! The inn... More

I travel a lot...stayed in literally hundreds of hotels. Tarpon Tale is definitely the top 3 best I've ever stayed in. The place is beautiful. GREAT foliage all over the property. Each room has a very private patio. The BEST BEST BEST part is that the owners provide bikes, chairs, umbrellas and beach carts free to use during your stay.... More

We stayed at Tarpon Tale in 'Sea Shell II'. We booked the room from Jan 14th - Jan 16th, but ended up leaving on Jan 15th due to being unhappy with the quality and cleanliness of the unit. I really (really) wanted to love this hotel. My wife and I booked Tarpon Tale based on glowing reviews from Trip Advisor... More

We stayed at the Tarpon Tale Inn 11/26 – 11/30/14. Had a king size bed living room and kitchen. Rooms have a parking spot. About a 5-minute walk to the beach. Its about ¾ mi on beach to lighthouse. Much better than paying $3.00 per hour to park in the municipal lot. Do not think there is any other parking... More

We had not been to Sanibel in awhile and decided to visit in early December and stay at our favorite small inn, Tarpon Tale. This place will instantly transport you to Old Florida with it's charming gardens, pathways, and laid back atmosphere. Bikes, beach chairs, beach towels, wagons, and a shell cleaning station are also provided so all you need... More

We have stayed at this sweet inn on Sanibel for several years now starting about 12 years ago. First, this is not a B&B. There are a variety of housekeeping units 3 or 4 in front, 2 or 3 on the side and 3 or 4 in the back. Read about each room on their excellent website, as some have... More
