We stayed at Tarpon Tale in 'Sea Shell II'. We booked the room from Jan 14th - Jan 16th, but ended up leaving on Jan 15th due to being unhappy with the quality and cleanliness of the unit. I really (really) wanted to love this hotel. My wife and I booked Tarpon Tale based on glowing reviews from Trip Advisor... More

We stayed at the Tarpon Tale Inn 11/26 – 11/30/14. Had a king size bed living room and kitchen. Rooms have a parking spot. About a 5-minute walk to the beach. Its about ¾ mi on beach to lighthouse. Much better than paying $3.00 per hour to park in the municipal lot. Do not think there is any other parking... More

We had not been to Sanibel in awhile and decided to visit in early December and stay at our favorite small inn, Tarpon Tale. This place will instantly transport you to Old Florida with it's charming gardens, pathways, and laid back atmosphere. Bikes, beach chairs, beach towels, wagons, and a shell cleaning station are also provided so all you need... More

We have stayed at this sweet inn on Sanibel for several years now starting about 12 years ago. First, this is not a B&B. There are a variety of housekeeping units 3 or 4 in front, 2 or 3 on the side and 3 or 4 in the back. Read about each room on their excellent website, as some have... More

The Island is amazing, the cottage was lovely, very cosy, great location ( just in front of the best place to have breakfast ( the lighthouse), a lot of details who changes everything ( beach towels, bikes, sun beds...etc ); we loved everything and had an amazing time!

My husband and I were in need of a relaxing getaway, and the Tarpon Tale Inn was great. Our quaint little cottage was comfortable and we immediately wanted to extend our trip for a month! The owners have thought of everything one would need to feel at home: beach chairs, coffee pot, bikes, laundry + detergent, dishes, ironing board, you... More

Stayed earlier this year, had to go back at the end of summer, we enjoy it so much. Complete relaxation, freedom to treat the room as your own. Quiet end of Sanibel, the quaint shops are wonderful to shop in, the deli and café are never disappointing. We have gone back for many years, will continue to go, hopefully, for... More

I went to Sanibel to visit my brother and his wife while they were staying at the Tarpon Tale Inn earlier this week. First, despite the hot Florida summer, Sanibel was great. No crowds, no waiting, just super friendly locals. Second, the Tarpon Tale inn was just charming. Their unit was spacious with a full kitchen, dining/living area and a... More

My husband and I have been staying at this quaint, cottage-style feel, inn for years. The price has always been so affordable and we love the location and proximity to the beach. It is not fancy, there is no pool or high-end amenities, but it is just perfect for a great week-end stay on the island. Kitchens in each room,... More
