What we like best about the inn: Casual atmosphere The kids could swim often without having to plan a 'trip to the pool' Beach access across the street Jean quietly telling us one morning there was a manatee swimming by in the creek - we watched the mama and baby bask in the sun for an hour BBQ dinners by... more

This is the 5th time we have stayed at the Sunshine Island Inn. They have never let us down. Jean and Sadie make us feel like family. My better half and I travel the world in the music business and found this place by chance when we were booked at the Barbara Mann Center for a few nights. We started... more

The Sunshine Island Inn is a great place to go with family. My husband and I love traveling with our 2 Boston Terriers and having a warm, inviting place to go is a plus for us. It is very clean, decorated well and Jean is a great property manager. There is also a very large pool that close by. The... more

I cant say enough about Sunshine Island Inn. My family and I stayed there in May and it was an experience we will always cherish. I have a seven year old and a thirteen year old and for once BOTH of them had a great time. My husband and I enjoyed it mostly because of it's size and relaxing feel.... more

Loved this place!! My mom, daughter{9 years old} and I stayed here for 6 fabulous nights!! The "Lighthouse Suite" was perfect for our needs with a little kitchen, comfy beds and a little sitting area and table and chairs. There was hardly anyone ever at the pool so we felt like it was our own private place.....great patio out front... more

Sunshine Island Inn is a nice change from all the beachfront condos. We stayed in the Tropical Paradise room, which is set a little apart from the others, and it was very private. Two rooms: living room area with kitchen and microwave, couch that is not fit to sleep on, and a bedroom with king size bed. Nothing luxurious but... more

Loved it. Kind of "retro: 50's-60's ish. Rooms surround nice pool. Kitchen facilities meant we could eat in. Although not directly on the beach, they do have beach access...very important in Sanibel as public access to beaches is very limited. Tasha the desk person was very helpful and friendly. This is not a "spa" or "upscale" facility, but it is... more

We would not think of staying anywhere else, after experiencing the Sunshine Island Inn. For the past 3 years, we make Sanibel and Sunshine our May vacation spot. We love the management, who make you feel right at home. The location is within walking/biking distance to everything we need. The only problem is: It may attract too many vacationers with... more
