Some sites back up to water (not to the beach). East Beach is an easy bike ride away (1.2 miles) while North Beach is a car ride (5 miles or so). Lush foliage makes it feels like a tropical paradise. Birds and fish everywhere! Will go back.

This is one great park and I will be back. Spaces are big and secluded. More than enough sanitary disposal units, and bath houses through out the park. However the dump station in the pet area you have to go out of the park then back in to use it. Overall the park is in its natural setting of the... More

We are not campers but, had rented an RV and very luckily found Fort de Soto on the map and decided to stay there for a few days on our way back from the Sarasota dragon boat races. Couldn't have been more pleased! Beautiful park with abundant wildlife. The campsites were beautiful and the grounds well maintained. There is a... More

Traveling in a motorhome. Large sites, clean facilities, helpful friendly staff and a camp store with just about anything you could need or maybe forgot to pack. Spent three days and took many photos of the native birds and a family of raccoons who came to feed in the inlet behind our site at low tide. One of the best... More

We just returned from a week at the campground. And though we had an excellent time, we brought back some souvenirs: a lot of bug bites. No see-ums, sand fleas and mosquitos ran the show. If you are outside of a screen or trailer, beware. Believe me, they don't take prisoners. Before leaving, I read some reviews about the park.... More

County run and many upgrades since the last visit we made, first time in the RV. Huge! sites!! Fits 2 trucks, boat, RV and a tent! Shower facilities were clean, hot water and amazing water pressure. Wonderful visit, neighbors heard dolphin all night. We did not see raccoons but we're told that they were heard. Nice playground and dig friendly... More

We stayed for Labor Day weekend and had a lot of fun. Very nice place to stay, quiet, clean premises, friendly staff. Great for either stay at the campground and relax or take a short drive to the beach or boat ramp. Highly recommended.

We stayed for the Labor day weekend. Close to everything. Very friendly environment within all campers and staff. Lot of things to do even if you want to stay at the campground and relax or take a short drive to the beach. Clean premises. Highly recommended.

We have stayed here a few times and totally loved it. Camping , lots of water and lots of trees. Pier, bait shop, canoes, day trips and much more. Very peaceful and quiet. One of our favorite campgrounds for sure. Definitely would recommend to family and friends. Can not wait for our next vacation at Fort de Soto.

We stayed over a weekend. We had a pull-thru site next to the bathhouse. If we go again we would want a waterfront site. It was very hot and I think we would have had a breeze if by the water. Campsites are very hard to get there so you need to book way in advance and avoid the weekends... More
