We were blown away.. we expected a hole in the wall with a bunch of stinky fishermen. We had busy days planned and really all we needed was a clean room. We chose the motel and walked into sparking, newly remodeled and well designed rooms with comfy beds and a 50's modern design. There are also "cracker style"duplexes and sweet... More

We went as a big group, some of us stayed in the hotel some in the cabin. It was very nice for the price. We all had a cook out under the pavilion with other couples, it was so nice everyone shared. The cabin had an amazing AC and the appliances worked well. Make sure you bring all your utensils... More

The day started off very nice. Besides the fact that the Lady at the register was smoking a cigarette inside the store while talking to a customer, we received our boat rental and instructions on how to use the boat quickly and kindly. They even filled up an ice chest for us in case we caught any fish. As we... More

Shell Island Fish Camp's owners and employees take great pride in our small business. We make every effort to maintain a friendly atmosphere and operate in a straight forward manor. Fee structure and maximum number of passengers is always explained at time of booking the rental and again at signing the rental contract. The rental contract states the number of... More

We only had one short night here and as we arrived well after dark, we didn't really get much chance to experience what looked like a delightful spot. We were riding motorbikes from Orlando to LA and this was our first stop off after a long and tiring ride out of Orlando. Our room was clean and comfortable and excellent... More

If you grew up and fished anywhere along the Gulf Coast in the 50's and 60's before condos and similar development, you'll really enjoy this bit of yesterday. The Fish Camp is authentic "old Florida" and, as noted in other reviews, the staff is friendly and laid-back. Plan to bring your own vittles (microwave cooking only) or visit Savannah's or... More

Nothing fancy here... simple, plan room. We called and asked for a non-smoking room I was told we had room 102. They did not ask for a credit card. When we arrived about 9pm I went to the office and rang the bell. I was told that the light was on, door unlocked and the key in the room... we... More

We had eaten at a local Bar/grille called Ousts Too and the waitress suggested we stay here since we had no plans for this night. We were pleasantly surprised! It was right on the Saint Marks river. The area surrounding the Fish camp was beautiful. Yu could rent a boat and everything you needed if you wanted to fish. You... More

This camp harkens back to yesteryear when people were not used to all the amenities available in today's resorts. It is pure and simply a fish camp. Every thib you need is available here. Alot of folks store their boats here, but there are also rentals available. Fresh bait shrimp is availabe but you have to be there at just... More

Our children sing and play gospel bluegrass music, so they were invited to a church near St. Marks. We decided to come a few days early and leave a few days late in order to enjoy an early Thanksgiving getaway. This being our first experience at Shell Island revealed that it was the perfect place for our large family. Of... More

While visiting the St. Mark's NWR and Wakulla Springs State Park, we found this little gem of old Florida. We stayed a couple nights in a "Park Model" which was clean and comfortable. The staff were very pleasant. The Shell Island Fish Camp is rather an electic combination of old motel rooms and more modern park models. Not sure about... More
