We were traveling from the Tampa area in our motorhome, looking for a place to spend a couple of nights. While perusing through all the various campground directories we carry, I found the Pine Island KOA. Secured our reservation via direct phone call, placed the address into our GPS, and we were off. I must admit, we fell in love... More

We decided to take a quick weekend trip so we looked at a map of Florida, West Coast, within 2 hours of our "home port". We found Pine Island RV Resort. Website looked good. We booked it. Hopped in the great beast and drove south following the Google map directions, which were flawless. Unfortunately, when you're driving a 37' RV... More

This KOA is somewhat isolated in that you have to drive 11 miles to get to a main road, and more than 20 miles to get to anything of interest. There are no beaches on Pine Island and you have to go more than an hour to get to one. The park needs attention.....broken slabs, grass not mowed, cable didn't... More

This KOA is way out on Pine Island...there is no other way in or out so you are very far from Ft. Myers and Sanibel- Island. We drove over an hour to get to Sanibel, but the Ding Darling Wildlife reserve there was worth the drive. The camp ground is very mature, and almost all of the "good spots" are... More

The pool area is very nice along with the dog park and tennis court. The sites need some $$ and TLC. The water connections are not on every site and some of the cable boxes need repairing. Almost all of the concrete slabs are broken and cracked, but each site is level and with a concrete slab. A few more... More

The location is very far from Ft. Myers which we didn't realize, our error. Our initial encounter at the front desk was negative, but another gal later was very helpful. There is no heat in the bath houses and no solid doors to close. It was a chilly 43 this morning. The 'well stocked store' was not. I must say... More

As I've noted in other reviews, RV parks on Florida's SW coast are hard to come by and many overpriced for what you get. KOA Pine Island/Fort Myers is no exception. This park is mature with an aging infrastructure of broken concrete pads and a noticeable lack of shade trees under the sometimes brutal Florida sun. As others have said,... More

We have returned to this KOA time after time. I just read the other reviews and must comment. The hot tub has been replaced and is working. The "no see ums" (tiny bugs) are bad; but there is an effective insecticide sold at the camp store. The park is a little old; and more trees would be nice; but it... More

We stayed the weekend of October 26, 2012 in the Kamping Kabins. They were a great little cabins, although ours was next to the wastewater facility (that wasn't in the brochure). The grounds are nicely maintained and there is a clubhouse with a pool table and workout room. We didn't utilize much more because we were fishing. It is a... More
