Lovely site, as others have written. Sites are very close together, and you will be watching your neighbors cook and everything else while you are in camp. Better if you can retreat into a camper. Our experience was in a tent, next to a massive camper with a noisy air conditioner. Not that pleasant. There's also no relief from the... More

We visited the park while on a road trip along the Florida panhandle and what a first impression! It is located near Apalachicola around the "big bend" of Florida. It was a blustery day with sprinkles of rain and we still found it to be beautiful with its white sand, dunes, and emerald water. It is very well maintained and... More

Spent onE night there. Not on the water-about a short drive there with very adequate parking and nice beaches -- on the Gulf of Mexico. Sites have electric and water-park has dumping station. Staff was very friendly. The bathroom we were close to was modern and clean. Beautiful area on the island. Near Aplachicola, Port St Joe, and Mexico Beach.... More

Florida has great state parks and this is among the best. Miles and miles of little used white sand beach. Grat for shelling. Nice campground with 50 AMPs and water- $28/day. Kayaking and other boating on the bay side. Apparently the fishing is good. Bonus while we were here - a volunteer astronomer. Drop by in the day and look... More

This was our first trip to St George and it was wonderful. The park is very large and right on the beach. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Like most FL state parks, the spots are somewhat small and close together but most have vegetation around which provides some privacy. Both bath houses are very nice which is... More

We left St. George Island State Park after a 10 day stay yesterday. The weather was perfect and the bug situation was an issue but we used citronella candles. Bug sprayer came 2 days a week. Fishing is a must if you like to shore fish - use sand fleas and you'll have the best luck on the beach. The... More

The State park now has a decent road into it and all of the way to the tip of the Island. Years ago we went in and got stuck in the sand with our four wheel drive and it cost us nearly $300 to get pulled out --- now they have fixed these sand traps. The end of the island... More

Camped at St. George Island State Park for vacation. How beautiful! Gorgeous nine-mile beach with only a few people on it. Campground with large sites and very clean. Feels like you are on a secluded island. Very private and out on the ocean. Bring food since restaurants are a bit of a way back on the mainland. It's a five... More

Started with a little disappointment: I thought from the Florida State Park App that kayak rental would be available. Well it was not. We hiked the northern trail a bit, which is one way 5mi, but headed back quickly since not very interesting. The other trail through the forrest and marsh was better, butterflies and birds but nothing spectacular, hiked... More

We went here just for the day and loved it. It has a beautiful, clean beach with nice clean facilities. We walked on a long trail that went to a marsh on the bayside and ended up at the campsites and they were very nice. I wished we could have camped there but we were staying in bed and breakfasts...
