We stayed in the campground in an RV for a week. Pros: Large tract of undeveloped beach. Variety of blooming wildflowers. Pod of tail-slapping dolphins and lots of pelicans to watch. Cons: Not even a hotspot would pick up Internet signal. Not true of other state parks in the Big Bend. The campsite #26 had a foul odor so we... More

The campground in St George Island State Park is a barrier island park with 60 campsites with electricity, water hookups and a dump station nearby. The campground is located behind historic dunes in the pine forest – with shade! There are no ocean or Gulf views, but the campsites are only a quarter mile from the beach. There are two... More

We came back this year to spend some time on the island and enjoy a beautiful Florida beach. This is one of the top rated beaches in Florida and we have started bringing our teenager here for him to appreciate the beauty of nature. The state park is the best beach access on the island. Go down to the second... More

I'm sure there is more to this park than the beach but as beaches go, this one is perfect! We have been to many. The white sand, the facilities, the water. All perfect! This park is at the end of St George Island and happened to be close to where we were staying. The water was like bath water during... More

My favorite beach to go to in Florida. White sand, lots of wildlife and not crowded at all. On a busy day, there might be 30 other people there besides you. Great alternative to Panama City or Orange Beach, with the same quality sands and spectacular views. Plenty to eat on the Island too.

We have been to St.George Island over 5 times now. It draws me back, lures me with flawless beaches, and multiple songs from different types of birds. I love that I can see my toes in water 4 feet deep and not see another human for miles, just the company of some surf/beach creature scittering back into the Gulf of... More

We stayed here for a cheap alternative to a beach vacation. We have a 25 ft RV. The park offers water and electric hook up. There is a dump station in the campground. The Beach is a short walk or drive away. We used our bikes most of the trip. The town of St George's island is very small, mostly... More

The park is very well maintained and obviously cared for with it's careful signage protecting the dunes and sandpiper nests. The road is extremely lengthy so bring some nice music to help set the scene. It's extremely pleasent, my only complaint being the limited parking spaces on the roadside lots that show up ocassionally. It keeps the beach goers a... More

We always visit Saint George park when we're staying in Saint Teresa at least twice each year. Beautiful, natural beaches. Love shelling, few people, etc... Last visit I was shelling on 2 ft water and a HUGE black Shark was within a few feet! Yes, I jumped out of the water and people were running down the beach to see... More
