Four things to say about this place: (1) It needs updating & is less than spotless; (2) It's too far from the city's historic center to walk, which means that you'll have to drive into town and pay $8.00 for parking; and (3) It's not conducive to a good night's sleep--unless you don't mind bedding down next to an air... more

I was concerned about our stay after reading the reviews here. I was pleasantly surprised - we had a fine time, nice, clean room, quiet, and helpful staff. Yes, it's over a mile to downtown - but not a horrible walk at all. There's also the nice parking garage on the northern end of the downtown area that is convenient.... more

We frequently stay at Country Inns on business trips. We are familiar with the chain. This one was a disappointment. The lobby is the best part of the hotel. It is advertised as being in the historic district. That may technically be true, but it's a 1.7 mile walk to King Street - restaurants and shops. It may work for... more

Overall this hotel was decent, although we probaby will be finding a different hotel next time. Some good things about this hotel are: Nice sized rooms with mini fridge and microwave. Bathrooms were simple but good size. The ladies at the front desk were helpful to suggest indoor activities b/c of rain and provided extra pillows (which we had to... more

The hotel itself is decent - and I loved the complimentary cookies. The girls who worked at the front desk were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel was quiet and quaint. We overslept and missed the complimantary breakfast by only a few minutes, but the woman working it was very kind and offered us at least a bowl of cereal.... more

From the moment we arrived and the room key did not work (to the point we had to get another room) this was a bad experience. On first look the property seemed ok, but while I had the children in the pool, my wife called me in and showed me what looked like black mold in the corner of the... more

We stayed here for one night on our way back from a spring break trip in Orlando with the kids. We had never visited Saint Augustine before and were interested in checking it out as we had heard good things about the city. Most of the hotels we tried were booked, as there was a festival in town for the... more

At more than $100/night, we were disappointed in the quality and cleanliness of our room. We stayed here because it was fairly new construction. Unfortunately, mold has already crept into the room (ceiling and walls). The tiles on the bathroom floor were stained and the light fixtures hadn't been cleaned in some time as evidenced by the visible bugs and... more

Negatives-price, the room was over $100; lots of other choices in town between $35 and $100. Went to first room assignment and the heater unit was not working. Heater in 2nd room assigned wasn't great either, but adequate. It ran all night long. Poor workmanship on tiles, (stains) etc. Shower narrow. Positives: Clean room. Home baked cookies. Staff was helpful... more

This is a great hotel to stay at, and even a better one if your child goes to FSDB next door. The staff was Great and the location to downtow is just a short drive. Rooms are just your regular hotel size rooms that are kept clean. Pool is Small, but the hotel is on a postage stamp, so the... more
