Because I needed to stay in St Augustine for longer time, I spent 5 weeks at casa yallaha. The hostel itself is good and although not everything is brandnew, the owner/manager try to improve the rooms as good as possible. Furthermore, whenever guests have problems, the staff will help out. The prices are ok, but at most hostels you will... More

Many student pilots come and stay for 4 to 6 weeks in the same large house where other guests are coming in for the weekend. Balancing the experience between long-term guests and short-term guests is very challenging. All our guests have a reasonable expectation for the comfort and enjoyment of their stay, within the context of a shared living environment.... More

This was my first time staying at a hostel and it was a wonderful experience. I had no idea what to expect but it reminded me a lot of a college dormitory in that there are communal bathrooms and you don't know most of the people on your floor. I was most impressed with the security. You have to have... More

I was very impressed by the hostel. First its locations was excellent (all hotels in this location at the time of my visit were 10x the price of a bed here), the property well taken care of. This is a very large old house, with a massive kitchen, common areas, bathrooms, laundry room and dorms. The beds were nice and... More

My wife and I stayed at Casa Yallaha for a long weekend trip to St. Augustine. The location is right near the center of town and it's easy to walk to great restaurants, museums, bars, and shopping. We had an issue with our room but the staff was very courteous and helpful in resolving the issue.

This is a hostel not a hotel so you get very bare bones. The place is clean and the owners friendly. Since you are sharing space with all who stay here people can be quirky and that's part of the experience. They have larger family/group rooms available that have a double bed and a bunk bed, There are also shared... More

This is not for anyone expecting to be treated like a princess. There are no giant bathtubs, fancy little soaps or room service. It's a hostel, and with a hostel comes a travel experience as far from cookie-cutter chain hotels as you can get. This is a good thing. This is a place for people who want a unique and... More

I stayed for the weekend with my two aunts (in their sixties) who were visiting from Argentina and we had a super good time. The downstairs suite was perfect for us with the private bath, and the location is perfect. We had lots of fun; met cool people and felt like home. This is a hostel, not a hotel or... More

Upon arriving to this establishment I waited 20 minutes for someone to come to the counter to service my reservation. I wish I had read the "real" reviews on this place because this place was very crappy for a family to stay. The manager insisted on my family booking a larger double room/suite because we had a two year old... More

Casa Yallaha is under New Management. I am sorry to hear about the issues you spoke of in your review. However, I am grateful as one of the owners to hear about it. It is for those very reasons that we hired a new manager and cleaned house, literally. Customers now find a VERY CLEAN and very welcoming environment that... More

Now, its not a 5 star hotel with marble counters and all that, it is an old house built in the 1800's. The experience is something that I will never forget. My wife and I booked the private two bedroom. It has its own private bath. We had two other couples come stay with us, it was almost like camping!!... More

I stayed for two nights and was kind of confused about my stay. The owner was very nice and helpful when I arrived, but my first night was frightening and I was very happy that I booked a single room which I could lock. I woke up the first night because someone coughed very very loud. After a couple of... More
