I know, today everybody says "Floridian" but that's not how I was raised. If you're from Florida, you're a Floridan. That said, this place is great. The rooms are attractive, well air-conditioned, clean, newly renovated, and the foliage is lushly Florida. Most places like this have a few oaks and a couple acres of sandspurs, but there were no sandspurs,... More

Nancy and I won a weekend at Pirate's Pointe through a silent auction bid. Say anything "pirate" and you've got our attention. However, even the most stalwart pirate might have been intimidated by parts of the neighborhood leading to the resort. "Did I just hear a banjo?" But what a pleasant surprise to drive onto the property, to be surrounded... More

Never even knew this resort was in Ruskin. We live all of three miles away and frequently travel the area but the resort is tucked away in a quiet residential area not visible from the main road. Took advantage of a Living Social deal for my husband's birthday. Had a great stay - cottage was secluded, very clean, nicely furnished... More

I have stayed at Pirates Pointe Resort previously and loved it. This time was no different. The resort is off of the main road and set back off the street, but once you are there it is like being in a whole different place. Normally when I am in a new place, the first night's sleep is not very good.... More

This is our favorite place to go to relax and have a quiet peaceful vacation. Love sitting on the dock and watching the fish and wildlife. The rooms and very nice, the place is well kept. Love sitting on our private patio with a book. Our second visit and we can't wait to return.

We found this through Groupon and had a wonderful time. Our cute studio had a private patio with very comfortable lounges. The blooming flowers and gorgeous trees created a perfect hide-away. Kayaking the Little Manatee River gave us quiet passes through mangroves and bayous as well as more challenging bay waters--saw dolphins and stingrays along with the pelicans and ospreys.... More

I got a living social deal for this place so we tried it out. I was a little weary since you go into a neighborhood first but it was very cute and well maintained. It is in the middle of nowhere and you definitely need a car to see the sights. It is a place to have a very quiet... More

Wonderful hidden treasure. Quiet and peaceful atmosphere with very attractive landscape and well appointed cottages. Great pool area. Docks for your boat give it an extra since the fishing seems to be good. While we were there several guests returned with great catches. Jonathan was cordial ad helpful with local information. Will definitely put this on our "must return" list.

This IS a hidden gem in the Old Florida style. The landscaping is lush and the atmosphere is of peace and quiet. The weather was perfect so we enjoyed lots of outside time on the river dock, poolside and on our private, large patio. Johnathon was most accommodating and we appreciated his restaurant recommendations. We had the studio "apartment" which... More
