I live about 1 1/2 hours away from Pickens and we try to camp at least once a year at the beach. Shaded camp areas with pines and scrub oak trees. Most sites have water and electricity with small separate area for more primitive camping. Campground is closest to the sound side (which is better for the kids) but the... more

My wife and I camped at Fort Pickens in Late October through early November 2003. The weather was great low to Mid 80's for the highs and 60's for the lows, low humidity and clear skies.
