This is wonderful oasis tucked amid all the high rises on Panama City Beach. A hidden gem! It's a 2-story Gilmore family-owned site where the 1st floor walks right out onto a private patio, then grassy area, then pool or large sundeck, and finally down to the beach. There are also cabana rooms with private patios a little closer to... More

We stayed at The Driftwood last week. If you are looking for a great little place away from the huge condos then The Driftwood is the place for you and your family. The Driftwood has a wonderful family atmosphere and the service is tops. Free popcorn every night, movies under the stars on Tuesday night along with homemade peanut butter... More

Probably one of the oldest hotels on the beach. The hotel is clean, in a good location and has great access to the beach, but the mattresses are old and lumpy! There is an adequate kitchen, but no chairs to relax in and no place to set anything down in the bathroom. Modest improvements could make this place much more... More

This is an excellent small-family owned hotel with two floors and all rooms looking out at the beautiful white sandy beach and blue water and waves of the gulf. It is near the great shopping mall at Pier Park and plenty of restaurants around to choose from. The owner is on-sight and him and his family and staff are very... More

This place never fails to be just what I need. Not fancy but has that old Florida feel. Two weeks wasn't long enough. Clean, small, no crowds, wonderful beach, great staff and wonderful owners! The cookout was superb!

An oldie but goodie, well kept and well run ocean front property. Staff are friendly and helpful. There are activities, places to curl up with a book, a glorious beach, a deck where everyone meets at sunset for cocktails The location is a short walk from a fantastic shopping area and the pier. Reasonable cost.

We panicked when our first "lodging/translation = nightmare did not work out! Holiday weekend and not familiar w/the area...eeek! But then we stumbled into this beachfront jewel! Although not new it was kept immaculate w/lovely refurbished appointments, comfy beds, kitchenette, new tv w/cable. Wow! The staff were precious! Especially Ms. Suzie who listened to our sad tale and made sure... More

This hotel is retro and has old Florida charm and I loved it! We were given great service and loved how close it is to Pier Park and Miracle Strip Amusement Park. We parked the car when we got there and never got in it again until it was time to drive home... we walked everywhere! The staff always had... More

This place has something for everyone. From young couples to retirees, you feel at home and at peace. There can be so many kids you can't count but there is never a problem. Kids have loads to do. Every afternoon there are competitions for them and the staff makes them feel like they are their best friend. Although it always... More

My sister and I are in our 60's. We used to visit the Driftwood when we were kids. Several years ago we rediscovered it and visit for a week every summer. We love the family feel of it and the fact that the Gilmore family and staff give such attention to their guests. We always get a cabana room so... More
