The design is overwhelmingly kitsch; Palm Beach style on full throttle. As a designer I found it all a bit distracting. A little editing and all would be palatable. Room was okay, a bit small, and the view was a bit dreary. The closets were exceptional however and that did add to the comfort. Lovely spaces out under the awning... More

Stayed in a suite for 5 nights for a family event. I travel a lot and like nice hotels - this is really nice!! Great location (one black from beach, one block from "downtown"), great decor (really impressive). Rooms are not huge and some facilities not great - but more to do with the style and build than anything else.... More

This is the most wonderful boutique hotel. Their recent renovation designed by world renowned designer Carlton Varney is Palm Beach Style at it's best. The colors are bright and varied. No room is alike for added uniqueness. Accent pieces are stunning. They have updated all the lighting too. We stayed in a one bedroom suite with 2 bathrooms-loved that. The... More

When we arrived the valet staff almost knocked us over, they were in such a hurry to get our bags out of the car. Guess the small driveway makes them anxious. We were then taken to our room on the 5th floor, where we had a grand view of a parking lot complete with parked cars. Don't open the shade... More

Spent 3 nights in a suite. The hotel is beautifully maintained and the staff are very attentive. The food was consistently good for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A small pool and sun bathing area for the size of the hotel overlooks the dining are which makes for an odd feel. My 4th floor suite looked out on the top floor... More

If you are a nostalgia buff as I am then this hotel is absolutely worth the cost of the rooms, the location, the decor, and the terrific throwback themes present at every inch of this iconic locale. As a member of the advisory board at the Palm Beach book festival there were at least 10 of us staying here over... More

We have been to the Royal Room Cabaret/Colony Hotel a number of times over the past two years, and it was always an excellent experience until our visit in February. We wrote a negative review and wrote to the GM. We received a nice response and were invited back last evening for dinner and entertainment/Tommy Tune. We had a wonderful... More

Because of the location (basically a few steps from Worth Avenue and one block from the beach) one ends up staying here. Otherwise not much to recommend this over-priced, lackluster, dump. The reception staff border on surly -- they never smile, never welcome you, just scowl and are rude to guests. Several times during my 4-night stay as I walked... More

In the heart of one of the World's most renowned "Beautiful People" retreats, The Colony is whatever you want it to be. The staff is a well practiced orchestra conducted by hotel assistant manager Christopher who buzzes around the property all day greeting guests by name; making them all feel like lifelong members of a private club. While not wildly... More
