Detailed Reviews
Attended a meeting at this property. First time at a Ritz-Carleton and was a little disappointed perhaps my expectations were higher than they should have been. The little details to the property are being neglected- covering on the ironing board falling off and when I asked to replace it was told there were not extra's. Every day the toiletries in my room changed brands -i had 3 different brands one day in my shower. Beds need replacing big time! The staff were excellent and all customer service oriented so they lived up to that standard. I am not a frequent Marriott customer but the higher end properties in my preferred hotel chain (Hilton) seem to pay more attention to details.

We stayed a couple of days before Christmas and loved our stay here. The holiday decorations are absolutely gorgeous. From the giant gingerbread house to the zillions of gold ornaments everywhere, we were wowed. One evening we came back from dinner and there were even carolers in the lobby.
Lunch at Highball and harvest was wonderful. We started with the Southern Spread and could have stopped there because it was so large. Definitely the highlight of the meal.
We loved the pool area and especially appreciated the padded chairs. Also loved easy access to cold bottled water out at the pool. So many hotels have removed any access to drinking water and we really appreciated this!
We enjoyed the table tennis and table shuffleboard also.
The rooms were clean, updated and spacious. Loved all of the staff we interacted with, but especially our cleaning lady, she was so sweet and made sure we had everything we needed. Loved the turn down service with chocolates.
The only miss was after dinner drinks in the lobby bar. They weren't able to make an item from their menu and then also didn't know how to make a chocolate martini. Small misses for an otherwise fantastic stay.

My family and I celebrated Christmas at the Ritz Carlton Grand Lakes. It could not have been any better. The resort is beautiful and huge. The rooms were huge as well. We had an amazing view. The bathroom was large. There were four adults in the room and we had so much space. We had a balcony as well. The weather was amazing even in December. The weather averaged 70-77 degrees. The employees were all very attentive and accommodating. Room service was delicious, especially the blackened fish and cheesecake. We ordered cookies and milk on Christmas Eve and put up a Christmas tree and it felt just like Christmas at home. We ate at Highball and Harvest the day after Christmas. I hosted additional family members, who stayed at a different hotel, and they were amazed at the beauty of the hotel. Valet parking was totally worth it. I loved turn down service after a busy day at the park. The hotel offers a shuttle to the parks. However, I drove myself to the parks. On the day that we were supposed to leave, my daughter begged me to stay an extra day. I went to the front counter and it took about a few seconds for them to extend my stay. We did not want to leave the resort. I only stay at Ritz Carlton hotels and this location is by far among the top Ritz Carlton hotels around the world.

While the Riz-Carlton Orlando has a well maintained landscape as well as professional and helpful employees; the hotel itself does not stand up to 5 star.
There were noises through the flimsy door, the walls and the ceiling.
Limited TV Chanel’s.
Saggy beds.
Housekeeping forgot to clean our room one day and only once showed up for turn down service, even after we complained.
The shower stall is small at 3’x3’ and the towels and the bathrobe (we had to ask for one) are as simple as they could get away with.
The toilet made noise every half an hour or so.
The A/C compressor made such a noise every time it came on, that we kept it off as much as we could.
There was an outlet only near one side of the bed.
There is no free WiFi, nor coffee in public area in the morning.
Additional $90 @ day for mandatory valet parking (that was sometimes too slow) and resort fee (which offers very little with lots of limitations).

TLDR - 1,580 rooms over 2 hotels and only 4 evening restaurants = no where to eat.
The focus was unfortunately not with the family guests staying in the hotel but the money making big ticket corporate customers. There is a huge conference centre as part of the hotel and they should be catered for there, but the delegations flood the hotel booking out 2 of the main restaurants in full (not owned by the hotel apparently so they can do as they please). So with 2 small children at 7pm we were faced with no where to eat. The bar was full. The only restaurant allowing none reservations had a 2 hour wait. Our children needed to go to bed before then. Complaining to the hotel desk team left us disappointed as they were apologetic and said we could eat off site? So we had some chips at the bar with 100's of people drinking. Not how I imagined this hotel.
Over 5 days the grounds were constantly full of events, vans, noise, etc. Lovely relaxing hammocks, but drils and tables banging around everyone. This hotel is essentially a conference centre which I was not expecting being so close to Disney.
I've never stayed at a Ritz Carlton that doesn't have enough restaurants (only 2 in the evening and next door at JW is only another 2). They even closed the pool bar in the day because they had to pull staff out of there for a corporate meal. The didn't even have enough cutlery in the other pool bar because it was again used up, so we were given plastic ones.
Also, most disappointing was in fact that the kids club was also full even though there was only 2 kids in there. Staffing seems to be a key problem too. Apparently, everything needs to be booked ahead. Which if perhaps they'd emailed to advise we could have prepared, but that never existed.
Then after all these issues we asked for late checkout (Gold Member) given we also had to wait for our room till 6pm because of guests checking out before. Guess what, a corporate booking had booked the entire hotel out and they were contracted to kick everyone out for the passover event. Yet, they still had the same rooms to book on the Marriott website.
I've never been more disappointed in a Marriott Hotel than this unorganised mess where as a guest you are made to feel in second place.

Had a wonderful experience at the Ritz for a one night getaway after a conference at Disney. Are use a power wheelchair so I am always looking for experiences that are accommodating and accessible. I was treated like an absolute queen for my one night getaway. After spending a few hectic days, a Disney for a conference it was much needed! I need a room with a roll in shower, and upon checking in I explained that I am traveling with my personal care, assistant, and prefer not to share a bed with her. However, it turns out that all of their rooms with roll in showers that are accessible only have king beds so they upgraded us to a nice room that had plenty of space for an extra rollaway bed to be brought in. Although the room plan showed that it was accessible it turns out that that room was not when we went in. So, when returning back down to the front desk, they felt terrible, and actually ended up, upgrading us to the presidential suite which was fully accessible and have plenty of room for us! What a special experience. Bryan who worked in the front desk lobby area kept checking in with us throughout our stay to make sure we were having a nice time. We also had a great time by the pool. I had wanted to use the lift to get in the pool and they ended up having to charge the battery for that. Alfonso was great at checking in, and making sure that we were taken care of. We had a wonderful server named Giovanna, who brought us wonderful drinks, and even a special treat to the hassle of a little dessert and some fruit. I was able to book a last minute facial at the spa, which was incredible. Totally worth it, and again they were very accommodating and made me feel extremely welcome and comfortable. In hindsight, I would have gone much earlier to the spa and spend the day at the pool there, because it was much quieter and serene. Next time! After a wonderful and very comfortable slumber, the trip ended very smoothly as the concierge. Carmen had coordinated a wheelchair accessible transport for me to get to the airport in the morning. It was so nice for me to not have to worry about that and they took care of everything. I was able to get there easily and with no problems. I can’t wait to come back and spend more time here.
For wheelchair users, I will note a few things. All of the pools had lifts into them, which was great. I recommend calling before hand or speaking to the concierge to make sure that the lifts are all charged so that you have a good experience. I can guarantee you will if you let them know that you’re heading down. There are buttons pretty much on all of the doors so it was fairly easy to get around independently.

My wife and I have stayed at many five-star hotels, but the Ritz Orlando has become our new favorite. We love everything about the hotel. The service, the amenities, the decor, the dining options - everything is first-class. When you first walk in the lobby, the aroma is soothing and captivating. There are many areas with comfortable seating for relaxation. The bed is extremely comfortable; the rooms have plenty of storage; and the room decor is modern. The service is impeccable beginning with the front desk, which is eager to meet every need, and the Club Lounge is above and beyond any club lounge that we have experienced at other hotels. I specifically want to recognize Pendy and Sheila who greeted us by name and with a smile, anticipating our needs (e.g., yesterday I requested salt and pepper, and today Sheila brought me salt and pepper because she remembered yesterday's request). We also appreciated the cleanliness of the lounge as well as the variety of food offerings each day. It provided the perfect refuge and is absolutely worth the cost.
We couldn't be happier and certainly will stay here again!
I will provide a separate review for Knife & Spoon, which is yet another jewel in the Ritz Carlton crown.

We booked the Ritz-Carlton Orlando for an extravagant birthday getaway and it did not disappoint. We were originally looking at Disney properties but decided to stay here for a way more luxurious experience which we found to be more affordable than barely comparable Disney properties. Although the hotel is about 25 minutes from Disney, they offer very comfortable, free shuttles to and from Epcot and Magic Kingdom (we went to Epcot) so it was perfect for us. The hotel was immaculate, and all the Ladies and Gentleman of the Ritz-Carlton took great care of us throughout our stay. Everyone we encountered took the time to answer any questions with courtesy and patience. We had a newly renovated guest room with resort view that was clean, modern, and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. The rooms also have free bottles of water and Nespresso pods so you can avoid buying the expensive coffee in the lobby. The bathrooms were stocked with fluffy robes, an abundance of towels, and Diptique products. We took advantage of the breakfast buffet each day at Highball & Harvest which offered plenty of options that were freshly made and included standard breakfast steam tray items, really delicious grits (my favorite), fresh fruit, as well as more creative options including freshly baked cakes, cheeses, and an egg/omelet station. We also ate dinner at Knife & Spoon which was highly recommended by staff and was good (we were not wow'ed for the price we paid). Plus there were only two very disappointing dessert options for vegetarians or those on plant based diets (without gelatin). Their service was excellent however, and the cocktails were on point. The highlight of our stay was our day at the pool where we rented a pool cabana that came with a stocked fridge (non-alcohol), TV, fan, beautiful fruit plate, chips and salsa, and our fabulous waitperson, Giovanna, who went above and beyond to help make my birthday really special. Would come back in heartbeat.

“The Ritz” always one of the standard bearers for high-quality hotels…but, if you haven’t heard, “You can’t judge a book by its cover.”
Approximately 10 days ago, to celebrate my wedding anniversary, I made a one night reservation at the Ritz. At the same time, speaking to the salesperson, I asked what is the best restaurant in the hotel. The Knife & Spoon, she said….so I made a dinner reservation for 7:30pm for two….I also had asked her to reserve one of the best tables for us…
Yesterday, the day before my visit, I called to confirm my dinner reservation. I was told that everything was all set…they even messaged me that my dinner reservation was confirmed.
Today, at precisely the reservation time, we went to the restaurant…they said that they had no such reservation and that they were full. I showed the receptionists the confirmation from the day before and was treated as if I had forged it The manager ran off to the front desk to spin his wheels and the receptionist said “I am checking to see what I could do.” I told her that I didn’t want to get squeezed into a corner because of their mistakes. Waiting and getting more and more frustrated, we decided to leave.
I am so sorry to see such things happen at the Ritz…shame on them!
It has been my experience that if they can’t take care of the little things… they will fail at the big things.

My family recently stayed at your property at grand lakes. The service was less than ideal. We stayed for 5 nights and was surprised the level of service provided.
When we went to the pool each day we always had to wait at least 30 mins for drink service. Our last day at the pool an attendant seated us at pool chairs and picked up pen from very dirty table and left everything else for us to clean up.
Each day we would call down valet to get our car and it would never be there only to be told no one communicated with them.
Several times we ordered food and half of it would be missing, burned or inaccurate. Overall the food was ok but there was nothing very good. The staff wasn’t particularly friendly as a whole.
The housekeeping service was actually very good but that was the only bright spot of our stay.
As I was checking out I did ask to speak with the manager to provide feedback. He listened but really did not attempt to provide any solutions.
When you book to stay at a ritz you expect a certain level of service and it wasn’t there.

I don't think so. It was quite chilly, when I was there. But I did not see any beach on the lake. There are 3 pools, however. Big ones.
The waterpark is on the same property at a neighbouring hotel the JW Marriott a very short walk from the Ritz. 5 minutes or less.
Did you find out? Curious about the same and coming next week.
