Shades of Green, Lake Buena Vista, is a military resort on the Disney grounds across from the Polynesian resort and between the Palm& Magnolia golf courses. Very relaxing and comfortable while in walking distance from several other resorts and the golf clubhouse is on the grounds. Disney typical, bright colors and big windows with comfortable furniture accessorize the rooms and... More

From a very seasoned traveler - I went into this with very moderate expectations and departed a very big fan of Shades of Green. The hotel is very conveniently located in Disney and has pretty good transportation to all of the parks (free of charge). The grounds are beautiful - the golf course, the pools, the nice landscaping, etc. The... More

My husband & I recently planned a family trip to Disney & decided to try staying at the Shades of Green. The Disney resort we had stayed in the past 2 trips had raised their prices quite a bit & since a Disney trip usually means very little time in the room we thought we would give it a shot.... More

We have stayed at SOG many times and love it! The rooms are larger than others in Disney property and always very clean. The proximity to the Polynesian and monorail is an added bonus. The staff is friendly and since the renovations the lobby area is really nice. If I had any suggestions for improvement it would be to change... More

For those who gave less than a great review, are you kidding us or yourself!!!! If you are eligible, then go. I actually feel guilty staying there, only being a stateside vet by title. This place is the best. We have a family of 7 and no where in this park will you find something remotely close. We are frugal,... More

I cannot begin to say what a great place to be. We had a pool side room, and the room is huge to say the least. The people are friendly, all the people that work at the Shades of Green treated you like their friend. When my husband fell and broke his hip, they kept inquiring if I needed anything,... More

We stayed at Shades of Green for our last Disney vacation back in late 2009. We had a wonderful experience then and I would have given them an exemplary review at that time. We expected the same level of quality and service with this trip but we were disappointed. The resort is still the best deal around compared to the... More

I must begin with a big, "OUTSTANDING"! This resort Hotel for active duty military and retirees is a hidden treasure that is a pleasure to discover! The setting is spectacular in every sense of the word! Being our first time at Shades of Green we found that check in was easy, precise and a great place to get all the... More

Our week long vacation with Shades of Green on Walt Disney Property unexpectedly turned into a three and a half week visit to Florida. The night before we were to leave WDW, I fell in the hotel room and broke my hip. The hotel staff allowed my wife to stay in the same room at half price. The shuttle services... More

My family of three stayed here for nine nights in February, all of which were included in the Sweetheart Package being offered. We once again enjoyed our stay at SOG, this being our third time there. The bus service was fine the one time we used it during our trip. My husband just prefers to drive to the parks rather... More
