We have stayed at Shades of Green twice now and both experiences have been extremely pleasant. When you first arrive, the gate guard always checks Ids which keeps some of the riff-raff and excess traffic out. The grounds are nice and well-kept. When you pull up to the front entrance, the bellman comes straight out to take your belongings and... More

Recently stayed at Shades of Green and it was wonderful. The rooms were comfortable and the food at Manginos was fantastic. Highly recommend the calamari which is fresh and made to order. Was even able to see the kitchen prep it so I know it was fresh. Kids loved the arcade and the main swimming pool. Great value for the... More

You must be military to stay here, so be warned. I am not a fan of most "military only" establishments. If I'm vacationing, I don't want to be around a bunch of high and tights! But this place was truly awesome! The price was half of what the other Disney (ripoff) resorts were, and offered all the same amenities, plus... More

I have always been afraid to stay here and now I think "What was I afraid of." It was wonderful. We are a family of five and its hard to find a room to accommodate us. The large room had two queen beds and a sofa sleeper, a table and chair set, and nice size closet. The bathroom had a... More

Well I didn't know what to expect from shades of green. Going in I thought 95 per night sounded too good to be true but I was pleasantly surprised by this military resort. I love being surrounded by fellow vets and families so that part was great. But the resort itself was wonderful. The room was very spacious and the... More

This was our third time staying at Shades of Green. In preparation for a Disney visit we have looked at many options, off and on Disney and have not been able to find a better value with all factors considered. They have their own bus system which, in our opinion, is very well run and on time. If you don't... More

If you are used to staying in an Econolodge, Best Western, or even a Motel 6 then this will suit your needs while at Disney. It was 3 times more expensive than it should have been but the proximity to the Disney parks is what made it cost that much. It is only worth $50 per night for the lodging... More

This is, I believe, our 8th visit. The hotel still sparkles after 15 years. Staff is friendly and so helpful. Buffet has been restored to past goodness ( they had gotten a little weird a few years ago). Steven, one of the chefs, will have you laughing as he makes you dinner choice! Tip: if buses get crowded take shady... More

This hotel is for military and DOD civilians. It was the best value in all of WDW. The rooms are supposed to be the largest standard ones on property. We stayed at the Grand Floridian last year and those rooms were smaller. They say its deluxe/moderate. I would agree. At the GF we had turndown service and chocolates on the... More

This is a hotel for military located on the Disney Resort near the Polynesian Hotel. This is a very good place for military retirees. Excellent service and great prices. We have stayed here before and had a great time.
