I spent 2 nights on the Kinabatangan River at the Myne Resort. I was picked up, from the Four Points by Shearton, at 8.30 am by my guide, Patrick, from Myne Travel. On the way to Kinabatangan we visited the Sun Bear Sanctuary at Sepilok. After a 2 hour road trip arrived at the Myne resort at midday. I had... More

I wanted to go see the Proboscis monkeys on the Kitabatangan River -- but was unhappy with the tour packages my hostel offered. Luckily, I found the Myne resort booking office in Sandakan. The staff was very helpful. They scheduled the pickup of me and one other backpacker in front of the hostel, made a pit-stop at the caves (at... More

I stayed in the longhouse, the rooms are very basic and rustic - but you all have the needed comforts (air con, hot shower, clean, comfortable bed). The provided meals were heavy on vegetables which aren't my favorite, but the rest of it was very well prepared and tasty. All of the staff were great and friendly. Don't count on... More

We stayed 2 nights at Myne which booked thru tour operator (http://www.sabahborneotours.net/). I deliberated whether we should stay at a more upmarket lodges like Sukau but decided to save the money after discovering they were all pretty much in the same location. Myne was a gem. The staff were the nicest we experienced in our whole trip. In 2.5 days... More

Decor appalling but that is not what you go for. Room comfortable, view from balcony, air con and shower works well. A lot of rubbish on the river really detracts and distresses on a jungle visit. The boat rides are pleasant but there are so many boats out at the same time it certainly doesn't feel wild or intrepid. Saw... More

We stayed at Myne resort as part of a trip organised by Dive Down Below. It was a 2 hour drive from Sandakan along some pretty bumpy roads. When we arrived we walked straight through the open reception into the restaurant and were greeted with a spectacular view of the Kinabatangan river and surrounding rainforest. Everything from then on was... More

This is a wonderful mid priced place to stay on the river. The chalet's are spacious and comfortable. I did the three night four day package and could have done another day easily. The staff are friendly and provided great service. The food is very good though limited in variety especially if you are staying more than one or two... More

We spent 2 nights in this great resort, which is in the middle of rainforest, on a river where all safaris start. The wildlife is amazing, we saw lots of it with a great guide. The resort has charm , is basic and yet has all the comfort one wants: rooms are spacious , AC works well, hot water is... More

We spent 3 days at Myne resort, booked through Dive Down Below prior to leaving the UK. Everything was well organised from start to finish and as the resort was in between hosting two large parties, we had the place to ourselves. This meant that we enjoyed the river trips on our own and saw plenty of wildlife. Sadly, the... More

We were lucky enough to see a lot on our cruise - Pygmy elephants, probiscus monkeys, crocodiles and monitor lizards which was excellent. It is also a beautiful and vast river to cruise on. The staff were very welcoming and our guide Patrick was knowledgable and attentive. The resort was well done and the decking was a lovely place to... More
