First let me say that the check-in process for renting a cabin was a HUGE pain in the neck. Check-in was 3, we arrived at 1 hoping to hang out in the park, see where our cabin was, orient ourselves a little first. There are 2 gates, which we did not know about, so we waited in line for about... More

You dont mind staying in a tent or rv with no shade in the full sun, and no privacy this is your place. I have lived near Silver River my whole life and I would never ever camp there. There are minimal amenities mostly alot of hot hiking and the little museum. Really not alot to do. No swimming, no... More

We stayed a week in this campground in February in our fifth wheel. Finally a state park with campsites laid out by someone who must actually camp. So accessible that if you can not back into these campsites, you likely can't back at all. Angle to road off driver's side is perfect and sites are huge. You could actually put... More

In Feb. Silver River State Park was one of the many FL state parks that we have camped in since Nov. 2014. There are 59 spacious well maintained camping sites with water & electricity. 10 large cabins are also available to rent. Near the camping sites are several well groomed trails to hike. We hiked the River Trail several times... More

I was staying in Ocala with a friend who worked during the days, and was on the hunt for a place to do some hiking. I didn't check out any of the other attractions like the glass bottom boats etc., I was strictly just looking for some trails for a quick hike. I did the Swamp Trail and River Trail... More

This was a great state park. Thoroughly enjoyed the small museum and the "Cracker Settlement" which had a Christmas event including a gentleman playing the electric piano and singing with a beautuful voice. We arrived in the late afternoon so we. Did not get to hike the trail to the river. Don't miss it if in the area. They have... More

Silver River State Park is a beautiful place. I have been many times for classes and activities. Today was Cracker Village Christmas. All the pioneer homes were decorated as the early pioneers would have. There is an authentic home moved from a family homestead. This park has a wonderful museum with lots of Florida history, prehistoric arrowheads and early artifacts.... More

This park is gorgeous. There are lots of trails and you are close to everything if you need it. One down side is that the campground is not within walking distance to Silver Springs (the tourist attraction). Dog Friendly!!

This park was great! We stayed in an RV. There is plenty to do but we found Silver Springs theme park really boring. The state is taking over in October so all the non native animals are gone and no attractions left except the glass bottomed boats. That was ok but not worth the price. $25 for two. The State... We stayed at the cabins at Silver River State Park for 3 days in early July. The cabin had 2 rooms, one with 2 twin beds & one with a full sized bed. The beds were a little uncomfortable, but not awful. They provided linens. The shower, kitchen & living room were all clean. there was a stove, microwave, fridge... More
