South Seas Plantation is an amazing secluded Island retreat and must see, however hurricane damage has seen redevelopment and the exclusiveness off the resort raised, making it too expensive. $7 dollars for a bowl of Granola and $4 dollars for a rasher of bacon is not acceptable anywhere! more

We started taking the boat to South Seas soon after they rebuilt most of it after Charlie. At first, it was a first class resort, except for the food. But, the service was excellent; the dock guys were friendly, the beach bar was fun, the girls in the pool restaurant were nice, etc. Also, there were no lines to eat... more

After raising 4 children and finally having our last one get married last month, my husband and I were looking to go away alone for the first time since our honeymoon 33 years ago. We found just the right place at South Seas Island Resort. This location was perfect - we don't really understand the negative reviews. The resort is... more

Drove from St. Louis, MO to Captiva Island, FL which took 17 hours, only stopping for gas. The drive was so bad. I actually beat the estimated time by nearly 2 hours lol.. But really dont ever drive 17 hours if you dont have to... My girlfriend and I stayed at South Seas from July 22nd-28th 2009. I chose the... more

My girlfriend and I have both endeavoured to get a personal response from this resort but to no avail. In addition with my surname clearly appearing in the body of my email , it was spelt incorrectly. My girlfriend and I received word for word responses to seperate enquiries. No effort was made to assist in any way. We had... more

My husband and I stayed at South Seas Island Resort for our first wedding anniversary. The location and accomodations were adequate. However, I would not recommend the "spa". I was charged $48 for a manicure, which included 20% service charge in addition to the $40 mani. The manicure was equivalent to a polish-change and I could have done a better... more

So after a five hour drive we arrive at the South Seas Resort in Capitva Island. The drive in is very scenic and pretty; the resort is extremely secluded. Once we arrived, we went to check in. My sister (she and her family are from Chicago) had made the reservations about 5 months ago. She had booked our family of... more

We just returned from our first trip to the south gulf coast of Florida. Captiva Island is a remote, very quiet place to go and relax. South Seas Plantation Resort is a very large, yet peaceful place to stay and get away. Loved it as there are enough activities, along with a golf course with view of beach, huge beachfront,... more

All the negative reviews are TRUE!! The rooms are nice but the resort rolls up the carpets at 7pm and there is NOTHING to do! No swimming, no nightlife, no nothing. Save your money and go someplace else! more

The purpose of our trip was to relax, de-stress, and have no where to go. This resort allowed for this. We lucked out with great weather - not sure what we would have done if it rained, but luckily we were able to sit around the gorgeous pools with their gorgeous back drops. The staff was friendly and accomodating, especially... more
