Excellent facilities and friendliest staff you will find; we felt right at home and enjoyed all the conveniences. Beautiful setting; we will definitely go there again and tell our friends! It is a quaint, lovely, quiet place to stay and relax.

There are many old style motels on Casey Key Rd that give you a feel for "old Florida." All of them looked so charming and I was thrilled thinking we'd be staying in one of them. However, "A Place to Be" Motel is run down looking and not appealing at all. The trash is overflowing and stinks and is in... More

We selected this hotel because it was in a good location for a project we were working on. The location is excellent right across from the beach. The service at check in was excellent and the person we talked to could not do enough to make our stay good. The internet was not working in my room so I had... More

Thank you for your thorough response. The staff at A Place to Be is very caring, and I'm glad they were able to assist you. You are in luck about the upgrades. We are waiting for the permits to do a huge upgrade in every room and on the premises. It's been in the plans since the new owners took... More

We stayed for a week here for spring break- very good stay. Hotel needs some TLC but we enjoyed out time in this area. It's a relaxing and quiet area. Very close to the beach and to many restaurants. Overall, good stay, good price for spring break pricing and very nice neighbors that we had a great time meeting and... More

Easy check in, the man working desk walked us to our rooms and was most pleasant. Beach was awesome and just across the street. Pool area was very nice. Would stay again, but longer next time. Parking was right in front of doors. Great place!

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. The pool is warming up and so is the Gulf, this was a great time of year to come. I'm glad you came to stay - We'll see you again soon. More

This was our first time in this area and we loved the beach and location! Accommodations were fine. I can tell this was a happening place at one time and hopefully they will get there again. My only complaint is that the manager quoted me a lower price on phone and in email and then charged me a rate that... More

We appreciate you staying with us, and we have not forgotten about the change of price. The owner was away, and when he returns we are bringing this to his attention so that we can fix the issue. He should be back this weekend. Rest assured, we value every guest and every matter. Thank you for having patience in this,... More

A Place to Be is exactly as described. It was clean, comfortable, spacious and with two decks, one could see the intercoastal waterway from one and just a snippet of the gulf from the other. The property is old and probably due for some upkeep but it was worth the price. My only complaint was that the pool was not... More

We appreciate you reviewing your stay with us. I agree that the second story deck is a beautiful spot to sit. The owner plans to renovate the grounds and all the rooms - We are still waiting on permits to start this project. I believe that includes a pool heater as well. In March the pool starts to heat up... More

This is a basic budget-type motel in a fabulous location just across the street from Nokomis Beach. The beach is outstanding and just steps away down a private walkway. My high rating for this property is because of its great location on the beach. Our studio room was spacious with a kitchenette and bathroom and a nice view of the... More

Thank you for reviewing your stay so thoroughly. I'm glad you had a nice time. The weather right now is some of the best of the whole year. Our decor may not be perfect, but we are actively working on plans for a complete remodel of the grounds and rooms. We hope to see you again! More

While the owner was pleasant the facility is quite run down. The décor can only be described as garage sale eclectic. The TV which was only in the living room was a cathode ray and on it's last legs. The internet was spotty at best. The location is nice and the grounds have potential but we paid $159.00 per night... More

Thank you for your honest review of your stay. A Place to Be is considered Old Florida - Meaning the furniture is simple, casual and comfortable. While we offer clean and cozy rooms, we also provide an excellent location. Direct access to the private beach, and the Intracoastal Waterway right outside your door is a big part of A Place... We found when it became available due to a cancellation and booked it with a bit of trepidation; HOWEVER, we fully enjoyed our stay. It's NOT a modern hotel and makes no pretense of it. It's a homey, come as you are, live as you live, kind of a place. We got what others told us is the best unit... More
