We stayed over the weekend with family and friends and the water was perfect, the fishing amazing and the motel very cozy and clean. The kitchens are stocked with dishes etc, so if you want to cook you can! The beds are very comfortable and everything is a few steps from the beach. You must go see the drum circle... More

RIGHT ON THE WATER......We just came back for a 3 night 4 day stay at Gulfsurf. We were visiting my father in law who was having a birthday and we joined him at this resort. My husband is a 5 star junkie, he needs flat screen TVs, room service and gourmet dining, so I was really worried he would hate... More

We used to stay at the Gulf Surf in the 80's and early 90's when visiting my mother-in-law who lived in the area. We had to be in the Sarasota area for a weekend so decided to see what it was like 20 years later. I wanted to rent unit #7, beachfront with two bedrooms, two baths. This was the... More

This is a traditional Florida Resort of the past. If you want the Hyatt or Marriott facilities, then stay there - not here. It is a beautiful location and the people are very friendly. We meet there every year at the same time and have met people who have been coming since they were kids and they are in their... More

Noisy window unit which leaked. Very hot in unit because window unit was no where near adequate for the space. This was the beachfront on the right side. Cleanliness average & needs updating. They really believe nothing needs to be changed because of the location.

we called this hotel 3 weeks prior to out visit to ok that my family with 3 children would visit. We advised them that we are driving an rv down and would need to park it there. They said no problem. We drove 2200 miles to go to this place! When we arrived the hotel manager diane was so very... More

Wonderful old Florida motel right on the beach. Time is occupied by watching nature (tons of different birds, dolphins dancing, bait fish jumping & rays going by) or collecting shells & sharks teeth while guessing hatch dates on all the staked out turtle nests. QUIET place that seems very non commercial & more couple / adult oriented. Brought our bicycles... More

Stayed at this hidden gem with my sister and brother-in -law. Tucked away among homes of the rich and famous, the old Florida style motel is a hold out to simplier times. The rooms are small and "old style" but well maintained and sufficient. The screened in porches are a nice touch. The true treasure of this motel is the... More

Our family has been going to Gulf Surf for years. It is a very small Mom and Pop motel with no frills. But it sits directly on million dollar beach front property. The location is out of this world! The beach has lots of shells, sharks teeth and so much wildlife that it is a protected Key. We had turtles... More
