For those people writing a negative review, all of the negatives have the same theme....Its a BEACH FRONT resort...All Beach Front resorts have sand...sand and salt water mist create paint chips, dirty floors, etc. The Islander does a great job keeping up with these issues. The good news--the view of the ocean from the room is awesome. The staff was friendly. The bad news--the place itself, especially the bathroom., which you can barely turn around in. It's very old and desperately in need of renovations. more

This is our 13th vacation to the Islander Beach...we live and work in Chattanooga and love to get away to New Smyrna Beach. There may be newer hotels, but the Islander has the ambience...the view of the ocean, the wonderful staff, the comfortable rooms... We have been to the Islander many times since 1982. Then, it wasn't a timeshare, just a hotel. If your looking for great night life, go elsewhere. We were in Orlando for a seminar and made a side trip for 3 nights. As always, it was wonderful. I own 2 weeks and my son has one, so we get to trade into other resorts at least once a year. We enjoy going other places but New Smyrna and the Islander are our second home. more

This is an very nice place to stay. Well worth the cost and has a spectacular view. The workers are nice and the room was very clean and neat when we arrived.
