Since December 2009 we have been staying at the Days Inn at 1401 Atlantic Blvd, 32266. Without a doubt this is the place for anyone coming to the Jacksonville area. When you travel with a pet, your choices are limited. The price of this hotel was right for a one night stay, and the hotel is pet friendly ($15/night for a dog >10lbs). I must say that I've stayed in some "dirty feeling" pet friendly hotels, this was not one of them. It was clean, but no bells and whistles....

Traveled from Atlanta with two young children. Lobby was clean and smelled fresh. Front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Check in was smooth and fast. We were given a room with a busted, leaking AC, but switched rooms within 3 minutes closer to lobby with no problems or excuses from the front desk. Breakfast bar was great too....
