We stayed there and found this place to be an "Oasis in the Desert". What a lovely surprise out in the middle of nowhere. The pool is just gorgeous with beautiful foliage, you can see alligators there, and the food we had in the bar was the best FISH DISH I have ever had. You must have it. I think... more

We stayed 4 nights in a deluxe studio pool view room. We really liked everything about the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was very nice; even more than we expected. The pool was really relaxing and very well kept up and the surrounding area was really pretty with all the flowers and trees. We... more

Please don't stay. The smell is still making me nauseous and I'm not even there any more. There are two hotels with thesame name and the hotel websites need to make sure that the public knows. They tell you you have to give them 72 hours notice to cancel, so you are suckered into to staying or lose your money.... more

This is a small hotel in the heart of the everglades. I had a second floor room with a shared balcony. The room was very clean. There were 2 beds, a nightstand, a small table with 2 chairs, an armoir with drawers for clothing, a tv, some other video equipment which I did not use, a microwave oven and a... more

Stayed here again. Things that have changed. Restaurant is awful. Marina is now owned by the county. Rooms were clean, didn't see any bugs. Front desk staff was fine. There is another nasty hotel across Highway 41 five minutes across the street, it also at times calls itself the Port of the Islands Resort. It was built at the same... more

Our party were allocated two adjacent rooms on the mezzanine floor overlooking the cavernous hall pictured on websites featuring this property. The disinterested receptionist kept us waiting 15 minutes to check in while she placed a succession of telephone callers on hold. Her attitude didn't improve towards hotel guests over the three nights we spent there. The staff only evinced... more

I read the reviews, but booked anyway. I am very happy that I did. When we arrived at the property, we were promptly checked in and directed to our room. It was lovely. It is apparent that the hotel rooms have been recently refurbished. The room was fresh and clean, with European-style linens, and modern, elegant fabrics. The king-sized bed... more

We found this hotel in room saver book, where it featured a full page advert, which described itself as being great, it seemed to have everything under one roof, i.e bar, restaurant, pool etc etc. Now for what we found..... On arrival entered the lobby to find it deserted upon further inspection we found the whole place to be deserted... more

Stayed one night at the Port of Islands Resort and Marina. Had read some previous poor reviews but decided to stay one night. The location, passing through the southern Everglades is good. the pool area and the marina are very nice. Had a nice trip to see the Manatee from the marina with Capt Dave. However the hotel is being... more

The website is very decieving and i asked the lady at the front desk what the deal was. She explained that across the street is the Port of the Island Resort and Marina soon to be introduced as Retreat del Sol at Port of the Islands, and that orbitz was using there pictures for the hotel called just Port Of... more
