Gulf Pines KOA, located just off Interstate 10 near Milton, Florida, was, bar none, the nicest KOA we've ever stayed in. From the moment we drove into the gate, we felt welcome. The staff who checked us in were all friendly, cheerful and helpful. We were escorted to our site by a delightful fellow in a golf cart, who made sure all our electrical and water connections were working properly before he left us.

There is a swimming pool that is covered in the cooler months, a very nice children's playground, a mini-golf course, horseshoe pitching and a gameroom. Also a camp store, and possibly the cleanest bath/showers I've ever seen. I saw Kamp Kabins and Lodges scattered throughout the park, but did not stay in them.

My only regret is that the campground is right on Interstate 10, so we were more or less aware of traffic noise. Once we turned on the A/C, that pretty much went away, so it was only a very teeny-tiny annoyance while we were outside. The town of... more
