We stayed at the Beach Plaza Hotel for one night in June 2009. The room was an average size, comfy bed and clean. The location is good for the beach, cafes, clubs, shops and so on. Unfortunately, on the night of our stay, there was power cut, meaning we had no light, AC, or TV and music - all night.... more

This is an unfortunate situation for these guests and all the other guests who were in South Beach during this power outage. There was a flash flood on the 5th of June and unfortunately some hotels and businesses on the block lost power. As a result most of our guests did not get to experience the full hospitality our hotel....

I stayed at the Beach Plaza during Memorial Day weekend also known as Urban Beach Week, or Hip Hop Weekend. The rooms were very spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. The AC works very well, so much so it would run you out of the room if you were put it below 72. The floors were hardwood, so if... more

I booked this hotel for myself and a couple of friends to stay. After reading the reviews I was so terrified but they were all wrong. This hotel is cute, fun, artsy and in a great location. The service was good. It seems as though the hotel was recently updated but you can tell that it is still old and... more

I stayed at the Beach Plaza with my 17 year old daughter during her winter break. the location of this hotel is great; walk to the beach, walk to Lincoln road shops and restaurants, walk to washington ave clubs, etc. The location is safe. The hotel has a cool little courtyard from which you enter your room. Although the location... more

I was very skeptical booking this hotel after reading some of the reviews, however, as we needed a place to stay for the Boat Show and rooms were limited (and very expensive) - we booked this hotel. We had no problems with it. Knowing that so many SoBe boutique hotels are old...we werent surprised that it seemed a bit old.... more

Like most South Beach hotels this property is woefully overpriced. The rooms are tiny, the doors and walls are paper thin and paint is chipping everywhere. The beds are uncomfortable and while the room is decorated it looks as if most of the items in the room haven't been moved or dusted in years. The hotel staff was friendly some... more

We never want a guest to leave the hotel on a negative note. However, due to several reasons,we are a little confused as to this review. First, we do not have snacks and water in our rooms and we do not have a hostess employed to our hotel. We operate at a high occcupancy all year so there is not...

I don't know whether I just had better luck than some of the other guests who have written reviews on the Beach Plaza, or whether the quality of the hotel has been improved dramatically since their stay - anyway, I can only recommend it after a great week there! We had not a room but a small apartment, complete with... more

Well I read the bad reviews and unfortunately ignored them all. I never write bad reviews but this hotel really warrants one. The location was fantastic but that's where it stops. The hotel had a really musty smell to it, the concierge had never stepped outside South Beach so couldn't offer us any advice on locations outside a two mile... more

I booked in at this hotel with my two children on the 29/9/08 despite the reviews i had read prior to our arrival. After reading the reviews i rang the travel company, i booked with greenbee who told me if i wanted to go to another hotel i would have to pay more money.so i thought i would take my... more

We stayed here for two days at the start of our holiday in Florida. The first thing I noticed was a musty smell in the lobby, not a good sign! We went to our room which also smelled musty and it had stains on the carpet. As we had just had a long flight from the UK we wanted to... more
