Staff is not friendly nor helpful at all. The room was so so, no frills - just the way other travellers had described it. Quite different from the website. My room was in front of the bar (to the main street) and sooooo noisy. To be honest, I was expecting for something worst after reading the reviews, probably that is... More

The Catalina was the best hotel we have stayed at in South Beach. Although not on the beach it is right across the street. They have two great pools, one roof top which we enjoyed daily. Our room was spacios and the bed was so comfortable. Restraurants were delicious for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The service was the great and... More

Really guys? Best hotel in the world? I hardly doubt that unless you own this hotel. The only great thing is that it's a block from the beach and it was a little cheaper than the other hotels in the area. The decor of this hotel is cheap and horrible. Its wannabe posh-luxury style is a complete failure because everything... More

Having stayed in many hotels and resorts around the world, I would have to say that this hotel was the worst. The stairs and passages were dirty. The lighting was dim with dark carpet so it was hard to see. The rooms were very basic. The bathroom was dirty with hair on the wall and floor and used soap on... More

Stuck in elevator literally - management says it was our fault because of the weight limit which was posted inside the elevator on the opposite side of the wall as the buttons for the floor Room looked like a cheap, cheesy renovation project gone Wrong- Lamps in the room looked like those found in the gynecologist office.. Bed If you... More

Very cool hotel with multiple bars and restaurants in Art Deco area. Very short wa lk to beach with hotel-provided towels and beach chairs. Our room had a private rooftop deck - very cool. Free happy hour (vodka, rum, and gin wells) each night. Beware of club fee added to rate ($18) and expensive valet parking ($30). We didn't try... More

we are a family of four (2 young boys) and we visit south miami often. we have stayed at both the catalina and the dorset (affiliated and right next to the catalina hotel) at least 5 times and it gets better and better each time. the rooms have ample space and they are spotless. the service is very good (these... I've lived around the world and stayed in the best hotels there are--and the Catalina is my favorite. I stayed there for my birthday two yrs ago and again this March and the things I love about it haven't changed: (1) beautiful rooms, appointed with quality furnishings and fixtures; (2) a ridiculously, impossibly hip common area, steeped in art, light,... We stayed at this hotel and it was gross empty condom rappers in the corner. I ordered the rockstar package thinking that when we got there it would be set up. I had to call it in and tell them we had nothing in our room. The guy went to the corner store and practicly threw the bag from the... More

The catalina was at the best location for the beach. The beach was 2 mins away, which was awsome. You got a towel and a chair for the beach for free everyday. The food was out of this world. The pool roof was so beautiful and a get place to just chill out. The staff was so nice holding open... More
