We loved the guesthouse, and the beautiful courtyard with all of its palm trees and green tropical look. Such a friendly place to stay. Breakfast cannot be beat! What a variety there was. For the price, and location, you could not beat this place. We walked to the Ocean Blvd daily, then headed back to the quiet guesthouse for the... More

No-one there when we arrived. Called and was told someone would come in 20 minutes. Checked out the house while waiting. Rooms not made up, a grimy feel overall. Some of the bathrooms were so small I couldn't see how anyone could use them. Lots of mosquitos in the garden. After an hour wait, we decided this place was not... More

No sign on the guesthouse, made it hard to find, and made it seem sketchy initially. The german man/host who received us was unwelcoming and rude, and generally lacking in hospitality. The room was clean, and comfy Breakfast had a decent selection of cereals, breads, pastries, fried eggs etc. The location is what made this a winner, but overall slightly... More

I enjoyed my stay at the European Guesthouse. I wasn't really sure with my first impression cause obviously it's not a big international hotel with a lot of staff and evrything neat and tidy-it's a very personal house with charme and I must say that I really liked it apart from the mosquitos. But you have insect repellent for free... More

My husband and I enjoyed our stay here during a recent trip to Miami. It was value priced compared to the going rates during a peak travel time (spring break). I think it was a very good value, especially compared to similarly priced options. It was an easy walk to Ocean Drive and the beach, and the breakfast that was... More

This was our first time in South Beach. We went with the European Guest house because hotels were over priced! The location is great!! It's about 5-6 blocks from ocean drive, everything was pretty much walking distance. Our rooms were cleaned daily, clean towels. However the breakfast was just okay, nothing you really crave for.... We only had breakfast out... More

I had family coming to town recently, and put them up at the European Guest House. I wasn't sure what to expect given the tenor of some of the other reviews, but took a chance. Boy, did it pay off! The European Guest House is set in the middle of the residential neighborhood known as Flamingo Park (or Zone 2,... More

I spent a long week there and had a great time in Miami Beach. The staff at the guest house was also very nice. But the place was so full of mosquitos when I was there in october 2012 that it was absolutely impossible to stay att the courtyard. They were repairing the place though, so maybe it has changed... We stayed at European Guesthouse in November 2011 and had nothing to complain about. The room was modest, moderate but comfortable and clean. The patio was a really nice place to chill:Tropical plants all around, whirlpool, nice lighting. The humble owner (I dont remember his first name) was really nice, friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was very familiar somehow. Admittedly... More

My wife and I booked 2 weeks at the European guesthouse. The location wasn't in a very good neighborhood. The Wi-fi was not connected in any way. We were booked two weeks before coming and the only thing I said was make sure the wi-fi was up and running. Also there was no hot water turned on. When it did... More
