This is a hostel/ hotel combo with a marvelous location. Our room was on the first floor overlooking the pool (yes they have a pool!!!). We had three single beds and our own bathroom. Also a huge closet, which served as suitcase storage to us. The bathroom was small but served it's purpose. We parked our car in the public... More

The hotel/hostel is definitely an older building but for the money and location it can’t be beat. Just half a block away from the beach which was an awesome location. The staff were super friendly, always around to answer any questions we had. The kitchen was great. Could do with a toaster but other than that it was pretty well... More

My girlfriend and I managed to double book hotels in Miami. Both were pre-paid. We decided to stay at another hotel than Tropics(This due to very high activity at the south beach area during "Urban Beach week festival that we wasn't aware of). We came to the reception and met the manager. He understood the situation and was so kind... More

Stayed at this hotel for a few nights and it was quite a pleasant stay. Got to the hotel from airport via 150 bus, which was a quick n cheap way of getting there, only 2.65 dollars. the bus stop is situated near the hotel which made it convenient. The location of the hotel was brilliant everything was so close,... More

Stayed in Private room. Room was spacious and clean. Had great amenities and wonderful location. No issues. This place had everything we needed. Nice cold a/c, tv and pool. Never really spent too much time in room as we were busy seeing the city. Great deal!

The bathrooms were ghetto and run down. Our room had no air conditioner or refrigerator. You get what you pay for. The only good things was the pool and the black cat hanging out in and outside the lobby.

OK came in on a Friday and this was the cheapest available hotel. Not terrible. I barely stayed in the room as I went straight to the beach! Service was good. The gentleman was very helpful. The room was two single beds....good sleep. The bathroom needs cleaning and some upgrade....but really cannot complain as I was only there before my... More

I think this is the best choice if you choose the hotel with low prices and good location. I stayed in this hotel for 1 week and my budget was limited, it looks quite old inside, but clean and nice for this price. My Macedonian friend advised me to stay here when she heard I was planning to go to... More

I visit South Beach twice each year and almost always plan my stay at The Tropics. I find the hotel to be clean, basic and comfortable and includes a nice pool for the money. The hotel is close to everything including the beach only a block away! I find the staff friendly andI enjoy meeting them each time I visit... More

I love the staff, they were so easygoing and friendly. Rooms are decent but people were great. Bathrooms are nice. The building is great and i like the location of that hostel very much! You can walk 3 minutes to Miami beach!
