I'm catching up with old reviews here. I stayed at the National with a friend during my summer vacation to the USA and this was the worst place I have stayed in a long time. We changed to the The Four Seasons and liked it much, much more even though it was so far away. Supposedly, the National has "character"... more

Went for the July 4th weekend. I requested two double beds but the hotel overbooked so they asked my friend and I take a room with a king bed- good thing we didn't have any problems with that! To make up for the inconvenience they provided us with a lunch voucher for the hotel restaurant Tamara- which had GREAT food!... more

Going to celebrate my 10th wedding anniversary in Palm Beach, and thought I'd surprise my wife with a night in South Beach. After a lot of research, I decided on the National because I really wanted to stay in one of the local Art Deco hotels. I also wanted easy beach access, so that ruled out Ocean Dr. (not that... more

We stayed at the National for the first night of our honeymoon - and we didnt want to leave! We booked through expedia and paid $139 plus tax for a Wednesday night. We were upgraded to an ocean view room by the precious front desk staff. The staff was gracious and polite. The room was phenomenal - small - but... more

We just returned from a wonderful week at the National. This was our sixth visit and we are planning on a seventh. The pool area is amazing (the main reason we keep coming back), the food at the Aqua bar is excellent (as are the bartenders Carlos and Manny), and the hotel has its' own area with chairs on the... more

3 girlfriends and I stayed at The National from Thursday to Sunday. Overall we were pleased with the location and the amount of activity at The National. It was extremely relaxing and very close to more exciting places. We wanted something peaceful and not extremely busy or crowded and we got it. The rooms are very, very small and the... more

My wife and I stayed at the National for four nights with our daughter. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. Despite being close to the beach and a busy area of South Beach, the hotel was quiet. We really enjoyed our trip. more

Twelve of my friends and I stayed here this past weekend. The pool area/bar and beach were great, but the rooms were average. I haven't stayed on Miami Beach in years, so I don't really have anything to compare the rooms to. But as a frequent traveler, I was disappointed in the rooms. Mostly it was the bathrooms. They were... more

There are more luxurious places to stay in Miami Beach, and there's always some cool new hotel "du jour" that everyone is talking about. But having checked out most of these places on this and other trips to the area, I still contend that the National gets it just about right -- and captures what is special about tropical Florida.... more
