We stayed there may-june 2009. It was a huge disappointment. There was construction work at 2 other hotels at each side of the hotel. We got a good deal on HotWire.com for Riu and boy were we lucky! The hotel was amazing! the property was gorgeous, safe, very well maintained - right on Collins Ave with several buses stopping in front of the hotel.
