We stayed at the El Governor August 8th to 11th, 2014 , It wasn't my first stay but it will be my last !!!! We went for Breakfast Sunday Morning only to return to find a few dollars and a hand full of change missing from the Kitchen counter in our room , the room had been cleaned & fresh... More

We have stayed here several times and always ask to stay in the "annex" which is one story, one level and park at your door. There is a door that opens out to the tiki porch (large covered deck with rockers, swings on the beach, and it is about 10 steps to the sand. The beach is pure white sand,... More

Just what you want when you go to the beach. The room was clean and well maintained. Full size fridge, stove, microwave and coffee pot. It had some dishes and pots and pans for those of you who cook, I don't . Beach access is just off the elevator and the beach is well kept. The bar is equipped with... More

First time going to Mexico Beach. We was surprised that there was a room available. The room had everything you needed. Just ask the cleaning crew for a hair dryer and iron if you need one. They were very friendly. Great water pressure. Nice to be on the beach and just turn around and there's your room. We will be... More

Althought I spoke to motel staff several times asking about accomodation detials, I was never told about the negatives of this particular room. We love sitting on the balcony at the beach to enjoy the ocean sounds and sea breeze. This was impossible here. The room was just above the pub-cigarette smoke, loud band music and AC unit heat all... More

We stayed here for a few nights. The room had a refrigerator, small stove and a microwave, and was clean and quiet. We had a wonderful view from the third floor. Friendly staff and we walked along the beach, sat at the Tiki Bar and enjoyed the evenings.

We stayed here 4 nights late in June, 2014. The beach was crowded with people having fun. It's clean and well managed. We could never get connected to Wifi in the room but could down by the pool. The TV channel selections are a little wierd. I never heard of separating channel numbers with dashes or dots. Too bad they... More

We stayed here for one night for a quick family getaway. The room had a refrigerator, small stove and a microwave, and was clean and quiet. We had a wonderful view from the fifth floor and spent the morning watching dolphins search for fish off the beach. Everyone that worked at the motel was very nice and helpful.

We stayed at the El Governor in February - was a great break from the cold in Wisconsin. Walked along the beach, sat at the Tiki Bar with the snow birds and had a great time. Room was great - with small kitchen to make snacks and light meal. The ocean view was terrific - walked right outside to the... More

To be honest, I really didn't go to this hotel looking for a five star experience. I kind of knew what I was getting when I booked the room. However, we had family friends that were getting married there, and it required us to stay for a few days. Good: Friendly staff, great location, ocean view rooms, on the beach,... More
