Wow! I have no idea which planet the previous reviewer lives on, or which dream she has confused with reality. We arrived yesterday, also late afternoon, and tired, and everything's been perfect since. Bill is really easy-going and the whole place has an atmosphere of laid back, kindness and unpretentiousness. It's all clean and tidy and the room opens up... More

We arrived at Anglers Inn late afternoon. We were tired. Bill (the owner) told us the door would be open. We knew we were renting a shack on the water. But we did expect it to be clean. It was not. The refrigerstor was covered in mold and when we opened it up, it was dirty inside, there was even... More

This is a well loved place I stay when on business in Matlacha. It is dog friendly and well located. I've had some beautiful inspiring walks here. Thry have kitchens, though I often go to the Italian restaurant down the street to stick the fridge. Bert's bar is in stumbling distance as is a great breakfast joint. You could drop... More

To celebrate our wedding anniversary we decided to visit Matlacha, a small colorful town we had driven through on a few occasions en route to Bokeelia. I loved the artsy feel and thought it would be the perfect place to land and use as a home base for the weekend. Bill who manages Anglers Inn was very accommodating and gracious.... More

I booked the Angler's Inn from the internet and was a little apprehensive. Wow! was I ever surprised. It was much better that I expected. The place was clean with a lanai and a dock to tie our boat up to, at our back door. We were 1/2 block from the main road, where all of the action was, but... More

We stayed here in April 10. We were stuck in Florida because of the Icelandic ash and as we'd been given a slot to fly out of Orlando rather than Miami (which is were we flew into) we decided to drive up the west coast of Florida from the Keys rather than go directly to Orlando. Matlacha..pronounced Matlashay is a... More

Positives are the owner is very nice and accomodating, great location in a small town, has a backyard grill and stove available for the cottage. We stayed in the cottage and it was relatively clean except for the two large dead cock roaches that was on the floor. The bathroom needs a vent, the ceiling fan could not get to... More

Matlacha is in another time - one that we all wish we could still be living in. After a long trip from Michigan, I pulled up and couldn't find the owner, so my wife and I looked over the area and left a message with the owner who was out. We watched the fish jump all around the pier and... More

My wife and I decided to stay here for our honeymoon and had a spectacular time. She really enjoyed the dazzling ocean view from the comfort of our room. The enclosed lenei was an excellent spot to have dinner and enjoy the weather. The dock, with free use, was also a great supplement to our trip. I was able to... More

The Angler’s Inn is a great little place in a great little place. I’ll start with Matlacha. Matlacha (pronounced like a guy’s name, Matt LaShay), is a little fishing village on the west coast of Florida, tucked inside Pine Island and Captiva Island. The town has a very dynamic and colorful art scene with lots of famous and aspiring artists.... More
