On arriving at the holiday cottage down the road earlier than expected we were advised to 'wait in local pub?' Well taking the advise we found ourselves at The Oak,a lovely country pub serving lovely local beer and delicious food,on arriving we were served by Donna a most helpful young lady, she helped us find a taxi firm and also suggested... We stayed in this b&b for 1 night. Don't expect too much from this b&b..the rooms were clean but the window was a bit dirty n we also felt they could have kept some extra toiletries.the breakfast was ok. There is nice garden in the backyard. There is a pub just below the b&b. I was nt very happy as... More

Having been here on many occasions, including bring large groups of up to 40 people, I really do rate this country pub. Oddly enough I know about six others in the area and this stands out. I think some 15 years ago this pub was in a dodgy state BUT there has been a very steady and impressive change over... More

We stayed in a holiday let in Dewlish and thought we would treat ourselves to a meal out on Sunday so we thought we would try the oak. We thought in the countryside we would have a decent roast dinner so two of us ordered this and the others ordered off the main menu. The children's meals from the kids... More

Whilst staying locally party of 19 were well catered for evening meal in this traditional , welcoming village pub located mid way between Blandford Forum & Dorchester. Very good service & good traditional pub food &reasonably priced. Excellent varied menu plus daily specials.Would have no hesitation in recommending this pub for those who remember how a proper English pub should... More

A colleague and I stayed just one night last week but I wish it had been longer. Lovely traditional pub, log fire, dog friendly, delicious food. The rooms were spotlessly clean, comfortable and, thankfully, not decorated with twee flowery furnishings but modern simple colours and a stone tiled bathroom with halogen lights (though this was very 'compact and bijou'). The... More

There aren't many pubs in Dorset I've not been to over the years, but this was one of them. I spotted it recently when I was driving round some obscure Dorset lanes and vowed to give it a try. Took the family for Sunday lunch and we were all very impressed, a superb place. A proper no-frills country pub with... More

A rural, no frills village pub with a cosy ambiance in a delightful location. The double bed was very comfortable, the flat screen TV a decent size, the shower was roomy with plentiful hot water and towels. The room, while a little on the snug side, was spotlessly clean and there were tea and coffee making facilities. The light bulb... More

This hotel is a pub with good rooms above and in the adjacent coach house. There is parking at the front or in the road. The village is down a number of narrow roads and all is very quiet. There is a garden at the rear. The room was good with a shower and windows that open. It is under... More

In the middle of nowhere - which was lovely and quiet. There was a party going on next door that I think was something to do with the owners - we only know it was happening because they were talking about it in the bar and were not disturbed at all. The bedroom was nice and clean, we had tea... More
