Like every year it was a fantastic vacation on a fantastic place! We come from Germany to Florida for every year since 2005 and it is impossible not to visit this beautiful accomodation during our trip. Okay, there's no daily room service, no breakfast or dinner, you should know, but the Sandpiper Inn is NOT a hotel, there are only... more

We're giving five BIG STARS (we'd give MORE if that was an option!) to this wonderful, magnificent, heavenly place. The Sandpiper Inn never fails us - a beautiful, quiet and relaxing setting with unlimited views of plush gardens and the beautiful beach looking out on to the Gulf of Mexico (the sunsets are to die for!). Our room was lovely,... more

We were looking to stay at a nice beach hotel that had access to the beach and a nice pool. My son was stung by a jellyfish and my daughter was attacked by sand fleas. I know this in no the fault of the hotel, but since we couldn't enjoy the beach, the pool was our next choice. The pool... more

I must disagree with your comments: The Sandpiper Inn Longboat Key, FL is not dirty, unfair, nor unfriendly. There is plenty of shade on our property, we have umbrellas at each unit and the BBQ area. In addition, we have a covered wooden cabana right on the beach with tables and chairs where guests are able to watch our fabulous...

This was my 3rd year coming to Sandpiper Inn. We searched a long time to find a small hotel that was not brimming with people, blasting boomboxes, yelling kids, immature teenagers, and loud, uncivilized guests. I've been to places that had all of this and more. It was like staying in the middle of an amusement park sometimes. People often... more

My family and I have traveled all over the world, and I have been to alot of great places. When we arrived at the Sandpiper I was taken in by the to lovely people, Richard and Mary Lou. They made us feel like family and we had one of the best vacations we have ever had! The rooms are spacious... more

This is by far quiet a hidden gem. First, I booked this trip at the last minute in between business trips, and with traveling alone, I wanted something quaint, but safe. I arrived late and Mary Lou was waiting for me, greeting me with such a big smile and giving me a tour, ummm, at 11 pm at night, how... more

For the past three Christmas/New Year's holidays my family and I have joined my parents for two week stays at the Sandpiper Inn. We return each year because we have such a wonderful time there at a very affordable price. The location is ideal- the beach is beautiful and the inn is within walking distance to shopping, dining, and the... more

We already plan to return for a ninth year in 2010. We've known the last 3 owners, and feel very comfortable and welcomed (even, as returnees, with a sign bearing our names at "our room"!) by Mary Lou and Richard. They keep us informed about local things--such as good restaurants to visit and local happenings. We find the white tile... more

For 35 years we have stayed at this motel prior to the present management. On our last visit we were very disappointed. The "managers" were rude, thoughtless and seem to care more for rules them the enjoyment of their customers. Both the male and the female "managers" are overly sensitive, easily angered and totally lacking in tactfulness. We have visited... more

You are missing out on a wonderful experience at our quaint ,Old Florida property., A large majority of our guests are extremely happy with our very experienced and friendly managers. We have been going to the Sandpiper Inn for the last few years. It is one of the best, cleanest and the most comfortable places. Both Richard and Mary Lou are polite and extremely courteous. For all of our countless stays at the Sandpiper Inn at different times of the year, we have never had a bad stay. If one... more
