Do not stay here. I scheduled a trip for Feb 2010. They called me today to say that they were shutting down their facility, and had to cancel my reservation. The REAL problem is, they don't know when they can return my 760$ deposit. They actually encouraged me to dispute it with my credit card company. This is HORRIBLE, business... more

This place is "complex". I will start with the GOOD things. The beach/location is simply AMAZING!! We were there with a 5 and 7 year old, and the CLEAR WATER, small waves, tidal pools, fish, dolphins, hermit crabs, shelling, AND tennis... ALL awesome!! BUT...we were in a building DIRECTLY on the beach and closest to the amenities... THis beach was... more

we keep going back....It needs a makeover..the rooms are tired and not kept well. The pool area was never cleaned at night and staff was rarely there to help,,,on the good side, tennis is still great, the beach is fantastic and the rates were very reasonable. It will be interesting to see what happens with the foreclosure? more

We stayed at the Colony in June 2009 and we had a great time. The 2 bedroom suite was perfect for my family. The rooms were very clean and it had all the amenities we needed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location of the property is beautiful. Can't ask for anything more. We will be back again. more

If you have young children this is the place for you! Our 4 year old loved the "Kidding Around" program, and our two year old couldn't get enough of the beautiful private beach. We stayed in a two story condo, so our girls slept upstairs, and we had some privacy in the master bedroom. The rooms are pretty dated, but... more

Just returned from a two week trip to Florida spending our last week at The Colony. After our first week in Orlando visiting all of the parks, we were looking for a relaxing time doing whatever we wanted when we wanted. First and foremost this is a location hotel and before you begin to compare it to other hotels, in... more

We don't understand a lot of bad reviews here for The Colony. We stayed for three nights in july 2009 with 2 kids ages 3-6. Our stay was fabulous, the beach was gorgeous and hotttttttt. Our unit was clean. I think people expect more for less along the beach. Great for families, we want to return. more

Very out dated facilities. Sanitation is lacking in all areas. Beaches are beautiful and people at front desk are very nice. Everything else needs a major make over. The worst thing is that it is rated a four star resort. It probably was thirty years ago. The pictures on the add need updating. The air filtration system is not kept... more

We stayed for four nights in mid-June 2009 with 3 kids ages 5-9. Our stay was fabulous. The staff upgraded us for free to a unit right on the sand. The beach was gorgeous and few people were there. Our unit was clean. Only downsides were a poorly equipped kitchen and a loud refrigerator. The maintainence staff tried admirably to... more
