We chose this place to have our wedding, and most of the guests stayed as well. The property itself if beautiful and comfortable. The tiki huts, pool, and beach were so great to use. Since all of the units are individually owned, each one was very different. Our friends and family seemed to have very nice units with comfortable beds... More

My husband and I needed a weekend get away. I saw this on trip advisor and called. The people at the desk were very helpful over the phone. Once we got there they checked us in informed us of everything we needed to know about our condo. The complex is an older building but you would never know it. We... More

Stayed four days at this hotel. I would not call it a resort. All the rooms are privately owned and ours was remodeled slightly since the 70's but the room we stayed in was average and it never really got cool. Full kitchen. Beds were average. Need updated. The den furniture was new I think. I understand they do not... More

The reason we will return is for the perfect location and friendly staff. The rooms all differ due to being owned by different people. We were inside three rooms. Some are better than others, but all need updating. Older pink tiled bathtubs. Old and rust in places in bathroom and kitchen. Old 60s like slide medicine cabinets built in wall.... More

I almost don't want to write a review, because I want to keep thus little gem to ourselves. A clean retro beach condo with modern appointed rooms. Right on the beach, quiet romantic getaway. Great staff. Awesome place. Can't wait to go again. Two thumbs way up!!!

This was just the perfect place for us. Uncrowded beaches with powdery white sand and turquoise water, all within less than 50 steps from our ground floor room. Our studio room was clean, recently remodeled with plenty of clean towels in a very quiet family resort. Pool was nice size and very clean, although since the Gulf was so warm... More

Wow!! Wish that we could have taken longer vacation here.. It had everything we needed. Our condo was clean. Housekeeping was wonderful! Came everyday to see if anything was needed. Staff at the front office, well they were amazing! Having someone ask you is there anything I can do for you today and having a true smile everyday says a... More

I came down to the Diplomat with my girlfriend as kind of a spring break vacation. Being in the marine corps I don't actually get a real spring break, but the Diplomat offered a 5% discount for active military personnel so we decided to try it! Driving in, my girlfriend got a bit upset because it looked like a motel... More

I am quite familiar with Sarasota and Longboat Key, but being at the Diplomat was a completely different experience. First and foremost, it is easy to get to, parking is easy, the staff is extremely friendly, the grounds are spotless, the atmosphere is relaxed, and if that weren't enough, the Diplomat is right on the beach, literally. Open door, go... More

After two years vacationing in busy St. Pete Beach I decided to look for a quieter place for 2014. The Diplomat turned out to be just what we were looking for. Great management. Quiet. Uncrowded beachfront. Wonderful friendly neighbors, many of whom have been coming to the Diplomat for years. Pristine, clean, warm pool. Impeccably clean building and grounds; staff... More
