In for Sun & Fun and we thought it might be fun to stay in town. Checked area hotels and they are all costly with the fly in, so the price here was actually reasonable. We prefer a hotel with character and this one still has lots of charm, but definitely needs work. Our room was ok and had updated... More

thank you so much for taking the time to record your opinions. As an FYI, the downtown area is undergoing a transformation to the railway system that is going to turn it into a Quiet Zone, which means no more train noise. We are all looking forward to that day, which should be around June 1st. More

I have stayed here over the years and this former gem is becoming worn out. Our room was in dire need of painting, chip repair and bathroom cleaning and overhaul. The room was dusty, the TV remote didn't work and the few lamps in the room had burned out bulbs. It's sad to see this historic hotel in decline. Maybe... More

Thank you fro your comments. We have started a general cleaning program, which we do semi annually . Usually it gets done at this time of year, after a very busy winter season. I have passed along you're comments to appropriate department heads and will be involved myself in the inspections to ensure that the appropriate attention to detail is... More

I really wanted to like this hotel. Staying in an historic downtown hotel sounded wonderful. On arrival the free valet service was greatly appreciated after a long trip. The lobby, terrace, and restaurant were very nice. However the rooms were only average at best, and could have used some renovation. I actually liked the cracked old tile in the bathroom... More

The Railroad noise is about to stop. The City and Department of Transportation have almost finished construction on Quiet Zone enhancements that will eliminate the train noise completely. The electricity went out for about two hours during the afternoon and early evening. Generators came on while it was out providing all the necessary life saving equipment to function, such as... I was very excited to find this hotel online. Staying in a luxury historic hotel is something I enjoy doing. I do have to say that while there is some charm to the outside, porch, and lobby area the room we stayed in lacked all charm and luxury. I will give you what I found to be good and not... More

The Terrace Hotel could be a 5 star historic hotel, with minor cosmetic updating. Let me start with the "good": The history and architecture of the hotel is amazing. They have done an incredible job renovating the lobby/restaurant/bar areas. The outdoor veranda was great to enjoy the views. It is truly as if you've stepped 100 years into the past.... More

Thank you very much for your comments. We are moving to repair the cosmetic suggestions you have made. I would like to also note that all the rooms are to be equipped with 42 inch LED 1080 flat screen televisions shortly. Thank you again. Bruce W. Dunbar More

Staff was great, friendly and helpful. Nice large patio with lake view and large rockers and couches were great to relax. Bed mattress were hard. Nice linens and pillows. Bartenders made fantastic drinks, resturant was just okay. Worth the price of stay.

Hotel is first class if your a tourist or on a romantic getaway. I was there for business and had some minor hassle. You have to valet your car which is an inconvenience when you return to your room to change and go back out for dinner. Plus if you leav sth in your car you have to go thru... More

I am terribly sorry you were inconvenienced with the complimentary valet parking. We do have complimentary parking in the garage across the street that is available for our hotel guests as we rent spaces in the garage for exactly that purpose, however you do need to get a parking pass from the valet or front desk. There are 12 fast... More

First I want to say now very helpful the staff was. And the restaurant was incredible. Now....on to the hotel. We were happy with the room as to size and it was a corner room and we had the view of the fountain. It really was a nice view. The bed was comfortable, a king size. Also the free valet... More

My husband and I like to support the use of historic buildings and we don't mind if every detail is not shiny-new. This hotel is a member of the Historic Hotels of America/ National Trust for Historic Preservation. The staff was wonderful, rooms clean, comfy and spacious, excellent location. Nice details like upscale bath amenities and robe. Ask for an... More

The Terrace Hotel is THE best location in the heart of Lakeland....Walking distance to entertainment, dining, shops, parks, and historic Lake Mirror. You can sit on the beautiful porch of the hotel with a view of the Lake. There are many events on the promenade by the lake so I highly recommend staying at the Terrace for these amenities the...
