While this place has a few things that could be better, it isn't nearly as bad as some of the older reviews would suggest. True, it isn't the sort of place you would want to go swimming at, but then Bahia Honda is just a little ways down US-1, and why would you wanna go anywhere else? My wife and... more

I am a single gal traveler and stayed here with my golden retriever for a weekend getaway from Ft. Lauderdale. There are only 8 rooms. The hosts, Janice and Tom, where the best you could ever ask for. My dog was never on a leash and they never said anything about it. However, the ocean water there is very nasty,... more

It's a shame to read everyone's reviews, especially the bad ones. My husband and I started going to the Seashell Beach Resort back around 1996 or 1997 when it was owned by a wonderful couple. We got married in Marathon on a spur of the moment, celebrated there, returning for the next six years until they sold it to another... more

We stayed in the 2-king bedrooms with kitchen unit. The unit was clean and freshly painted. The floors were of nice ceramic tile. The beds appeared to be fairly new and were very comfortable. The air conditioners were wall units but also looked like new. The windows had screens, so we were able to open windows at night and turn... more

The place is a dump. Upon arrival we were greeted by the sewage and dead fish smells. We didn't realize it at first, but we were eaten by bed bugs while we were there. We left half way through our stay, but not before bed bugs had hitched a ride in our luggage. We were suspecting something, and have pictures... more

I have returned from what has to be the worst hotel stay I have ever experienced. Where should I begin? The website Seashell Beach Resort has posted online makes it look like somewhere you'd actually want to visit. I am not certain if the photos were current, but they looked nothing like the 'white sandy beach' that I saw. The... more

This resort was GREAT. The room rates were so reasonable for what the resort offered. If you are looking for peace and relaxation this is the place. I loved the fact that there were no phones to bug us, kayaking that was complimentry, and several hammocks to relax on the beach. The beach front view was amazing to wake up... more

When we arrived at the Seashell, it did not take long to realize this was no resort by any definition. The double queen kitchenette was smaller than a regular hotel room. It had a dirty refrigerator, small microwave, uncleaned toaster and coffee pot all on one overloaded electrical outlet. The walls were dirty. The smoke detector was hanging by it's... more

The place was ok, the room's were clean and the host was pleasant. There weren't any screens on the patio doors to keep open at night to hear the ocean, but you're too close to the highway to hear much else anyway. It's nice, inexpensive, but I probably won't go back. more

Considering the damages the resort has suffered during the most recent hurricanes, I found this resort very charming. From my stay, I see the manager of the resort is doing a lot to fix damages that happend from the mother natures hurricanes. This resort is what vacations should be like. The tranquil atmosphere let me really relax. I really enjoyed... more
