We love this place! Have stayed here many times and if coming to Marathon this is our go to place. Rooms are renovated, clean and comfortable. They have a boat launch with slips to keep your boat and a nice area with hammocks and lounge chairs to watch the amazing sunsets.

This place does not look like much from the road, but once you drive it, it goes all the way to a marina along with a little swimming area complete with mini lighthouse to sit on. There are hammocks and grills placed throughout for people to use, as well. Our room was on par with typical Keys motels. Clean and... More

After looking for a budget motel to spend a few nights, I found the Blackfin to be above my expectations offering a very clean bug free room soft beds and a safe place for the kids to play in the pool.. I caught my first shark at the marina pier and think the general manager has his game on target..... More

from the outside it seemed quite old and shabby, but the room was clean, renovated, spacious, and comfortable. we enjoyed our stay very much, also enjoyed going down to the beach and the pool. friendly people, and all in all a very good place - too bad we only had one night there. there is no breakfast, but there is... If you are looking for a $400 per night Hilton type hotel, don't stay here. But if you want a good value in an older, well maintained traditional Florida Keys motel the Black Fin is great! Centrally located in the Keys, Marathon is a good location for reasonable snorkeling trips and nice ocean view restaurants. The staff were very friendly... More

I have stayed here twice and highly recommend it. Bring your own pillow and the AC is the loud window shaker but, if you want to see the Keys the way they used to be stay here. Watch the sunset here, eat giant KW shrimp here. See lobster and sharks here. This is where you see what has been all... More

I had some doubts when reserving this place - I was afraid it's a 2nd grade motel, old and not so clean, but the good reviews on TripAdvisor together with the reasonable price for the keys convinced me to go for it. Externally it seems an old motel, but the rooms are quite newly renovated, clean and spacious. The pool... More

Arrived in the middle of a summer storm. Lightening hit a transformer across the street as we were checking in and blew out most of the tv's in the resort. Our room was spared. It was as clean as any I have stayed in. Great stay. The beds were extremely comfortable.

My Dragon Boat team was looking for a place to stay at while we attended the Battle in the Bay race. Our event director called Blackfin Resort & spoke with Mark. We able to block rooms for our group. My room was the large efficiency. It was very nice & clean. The bed was comfy. We bought our dog which... More

We were pleasantly surprised to find there is a pool here at Blackfin Resort and Marina, along with a waterfront area from which we saw both sunrise and sunset. The place reminded me of places in Michigan's Upper Peninsula - not fancy but very nice and relaxing. Be sure to use insect repellent on your legs if you sit out... More
