We found the Sandpiper on our return from Key West. We asked to view the room and was happy as it was clean and had everything you could need. The decoration may be a little dated but has a lovely charm. The manager was also very nice and friendly. There is also lovely places to eat around the area which... more

Each year, my son and two of my friends schedule a bike trip to various parts of the country, in order to relax and ride our motorcycles. This year, we picked the Florida Keys and chanced upon the Sandpiper Motel, in Marathon. This was the best bargain that I've found in a long, long time. The rooms were clean and... more

We have stayed here now for three months straight. Anita (manager) has been so nice and a great friend during our stay. The Sandpiper is a smaller facility but with eight great rooms offering all the amenities you need. My husband, our 10 month old daughter (7 months when we arrived), myself and our 20 pound cat could not have... more

Booked our room based on TripAdvisor reviews - and was not disappointed. Nice, relaxing tropical theme in rooms, ice cold A/C, ceiling fan, kitchen. Nice, central Keys location, close to many great dining and drinking establishments, and not too far from Key West and other great destinations. Manager (Anita) was very nice and accomodating. If you are loking for granite... more

We saw the sign, asked to see a room and paid. All rooms include a kitchen, are clean and have eclectic furnishings with a tropical motif. The manager is friendly, informative and personally stenciled the room walls. Their are benches and a grill for guest use. This is an unusual property with a warm feel and at $65 is real... more

I would highly recommend to anybody to stay at the Sandpiper Motel. Not only is the price affordable, but the rooms are VERY CLEAN. The manager that runs the place is very friendly and helpful. If you have any questions of where places are at or things to do, she would be the one to ask. I enjoyed chatting with... more

A great value for the money (65 per room). The manager is nice and friendly. Rooms and bathrooms are clean. The only bothering thing was a pretty strong tobacco smell in the room. Very laid back atmosphere. I would recommend it. more

We just returned from a trip to the Keys and had the fortunate luck to come across the Sandpiper Motel when researching our trip. What a relaxing stay for minimum expense. The room was freshly painted and nicely decorated, the owner was friendly and attentive, and we spent a quiet two nights without emptying our pocketbooks. I recemmend that anyone... more

I visited the Keys back in 2005 and stayed at the Sandpiper,i will admit it was terrible !The rooms were run down and falling apart and the manager was rude(when you could even get ahold of her). I recently came back to the beautiful flordia keys only to find i had no room to stay in when my resort,Tranquility Bay,... more

My family and I stayed at the Sandpiper Motel a couple years ago. I was reminded of the motel when I recently came across a travel file. It evoked such strong feelings, I decided to finally write a review, the first I've written for TripAdvisor. About all the 'Piper has going for it is its cheap rate. The room we... more
