We booked two rooms at this resort for a long 4th of July weekend with friends. The resort is pretty and the facilities are your typical small Florida Keys hotel style - marina, pool, bbqs. The marina and pool are beautiful and the restaurant could be nice if they work on their staffing a bit. The rooms are decent but... more

We booked a room at Banana Bay because we saw their brochure and though it looked beautiful. We were quite surprised to find the true condition of the "resort." The first room we were given was a "pool view" but actually overlooked the parking lot. We asked for a room change and were given an equally depressing room. The furnishings... more

We loved the tropical gardening all around the place. The new restaurant had decent food.Pool was big and nice.I counted over 50 lobsters in and around the boat slips."Totally cool".But don't get caught catching any.NOT ALLOWED.The only drawback was the room.Very damp and moldy.I'm not an inspector but when you lean on the wall to balance yourself I'm pretty sure its... more

Thank you for your review. Water damage dating back to the July and August storms of 2008 and before is still being addressed in some of our guest rooms. Drywall repair and replacement, and wall covering replacement is part of this project. Our rooms are clean, the food is great and the staff is friendly. Add to that one of...

We stay there for 11 Nights. The Room (414) had a Seaview an was located in the second Floor. The AC works good and there was a ceiling fan in the Room. The room was quiet and clean. Its a good place from where you can go easy to Key West or Miami (1 h driving). In the Marathon Area you find everything that you... more

The hotel is beautiful the pool superb, rooms a little dated but clean so no complaints. The marina is recently re-built and very smart. Poolside tiki hut is good and the staff very nice, in fact all the staff are friendly so up to now 5/5 BUT it is all let down by the restraunt. It only opened again in... more

We stayed here May 8 to May 11. The hotel room and common areas were very clean the whole time we were there. The refrigerator, TV, AC were all in perfect working condition. The few times we went to the office to ask questions, we found everyone knowledgable of the Marathon area and helpful. The grounds were nicely kept! There... more

I was also a little nervous because of the mixed reviews, but as a person who has stayed in many many little resorty places in the Keys, I loved it! Our room was very clean and we liked the fabric around the bed. There is a little "beach" in the back of the property, which is rare in the Keys,... more

Banana Bay Resort definitely has it's ups and downs. We have lived in the Marathon area off and on for a long time. We decided to stay at Banana Bay Resort this week so that we could go out diving with our special dive equipement. The Marina ALLEGEDLY had decent boats to use for diving. Now for the first BAD.... more

We are pleased that our guests were able to be relocated to an accommodation that met their expectations. We will address the deficiencies in the bungalow that was originally assigned. The fishing charters are provided by third-party vendors. We actively work with these companies to ensure that the charters are conducted professionally and efficiently in a relaxed, guest-oriented environment. We...

Well, of the two kinds of resorts in Marathon, Deluxe( hello Tranquility Bay!) to far more common, motel type "resort"s, Banana Bay was ok and that is it. My husband had booked us the 'honeymoon/anniversary package' in which the room looked really nice, on the website's 800 #. When we went to check in they had double booked the honeymoon... more

The website looked good and everywhere else was booked or too expensive so we stayed there. The buildings literaly had stuff, like pieces of wood, coming off them. The TV was so small you needed reading glasses to watch it. They really need to make some improvements. The room smelled like cigerette smoke so we told the office. They were... more
