This was by far the WORST place I have ever stayed in my life. The motel looks like a nasty old welfare motel that should be in the ghetto. The rooms were filthy and falling apart. There was a huge ball of someone else's hair on the window sill of my shower and the room reeked of old stale cigarette... more

I stayed at Sunset Inn with a group of 7 guys on a fishing trip in February, 2009. The rooms were old and basic. It's good enough for a fishing trip. It was cold the week were in the Keys, and the heater in the room did not work. The attendant looked at it, and said "it'll kick-in when the... more

Myself & two friends stayed here for two nights in late April 2008. The motel and rooms were quite basic, but clean. The motel has a great pool on site and is a five minute walk from the Lorelei, a fantastic tiki bar / restaurant with a location to die for. I would recommend this motel to anyone looking for... more

The motel is old, but I personally LOVE the charm that the older motels in the Keys have and prefer these to the Marriotts and Hiltons of the world. I stayed at the Sunset Inn last weekend on Saturday and Sunday nights. I really only needed the place for the AC as my friend who I came to visit was... more

My fiance and I went there for his birthday/ fishing trip. They were very accommodating , Dennis in the lobby was who I dealt with and even though I arrived at 10pm they left room key and map of room. It was very clean and the staff very nice. We had a wonderful time, so much so that we are... more

Stayed for a couple of nights on Feb. 21 and 22nd 2008. Wanted an inexpensive location close to Key West. Room and bathroom old and dated but clean, same for pool. Close to many amenities (Burger KIng across road). Good TV staions, lots of clean towels. Bit of road noise but not too bad. I would definately stay there again. more

I stayed at the Sunset Inn for 5 nights in the beginning of January. The main focus of my trip was a fishing getaway for my father and me. The staff was very hospitable and left our room key under the mat because of our late check in time. The room was plenty large enough and consisted of two queen... more

Looking at some of the past reviews, and as I am planning my next trip to the Keys I must say Sunset Inn was not bad.We stayed a full week at Sunset Inn.Our room was NOT dirty, housekeepers came by every morning and brought clean towels, the pool was clean, staff was friendly. This is not a 5 star hotel, and for the price... more

Unfortunately, the place did NOT resemble the pictures that were posted on the website. The outside of the building was quite run down and in need of repair. The room itself, was quite awful. For the price, I expected some comfort and a few amenites--especially cleanliness. THe bathroom was dirty and the towels had not been changed and were obviously... more

Me and my friend booked a room with kitchenette for three nights at the beginning of Feb 2007. Cost was $80 per night. From outside, the place looked OK, but the pinkish color is pretty weird. In general the motel needs investment for some serious face lift. First thing when I entered the room was a terrible smell of humidity... more
