My sister-in-law and I spent two nights at the Sunset Inn last week. It was very nice. A friend had told us what was provided and what was not, so we were prepared with a large ice cooler, coffee pot and hair dryers, shampoos etc. If you know this in advance, it's no big deal. Towels and bar soap provided.... More

I hav stayed here many, many times.. this place is an old Florida-style motel.. it is not the Hilton nor the Marriott, but then again, its less than half the price of those places.. with that said, I will tell you that when I go to the upper keyes I want to spend my money on swimming with the dolphins,... This motel provided my 2 children and i an extremely affordable, clean, and centrally located place to stay in the Keys. As the other reviews have stated its not really the Mariott, There are plenty of places like that nearby for $300-$500 a night. We stayed 5 nights for $90 a night. We were not there for a lavish room.... More

The sunset inn is a great place for traveling between stops. We stayed two nights. Clean and neat. Old building. If you're looking for the Hilton stay at a Hilton. Only drawback is noise from the highway but that can't be controlled.

The walls are paper thin. Ask for a room out back by the pool its quieter BUT remember you are on a fishing island and the people who fish go to bed late and get up VERY VERY early...like 4am. First night was sleepless due to the fishing guy next door. IF you have an issue tho go out to... More

Five rooms not as advertised, requested all on first floor got one room on first floor. Said they had kings and queens only kings and full. One room had roaches. Front desk not too friendly. Hotel is very dated. Little restaurant next door is great though.

First of all, this place was cheap. $65 dollars during nautical flea market week, making it 'dirt cheap' literally and figuratively. Expectations were not high, but we were still grossed out. Leading with the positives, the room was large and freshly painted. Although teeny tiny, they did have flat screen TVs, even if comically they were dollhouse size. They also... More

We just stayed at the Sunset Inn four nights in January. As other reviewers have stated, this is an older hotel, and it has pluses and minuses. By far the biggest plus is the price. The Sunset Inn and it's sisters, the Blue Finn and Key Lantern, are the cheapest places to stay in the Keys. By a mile. Let's... More

We stayed three nights in a kitchenette suite near the pool. It was large, but very basic, the bed was comfortable, the pillows were terribly flat, there is no coffee, shampoo or even a hair dryer in the suite. The wifi worked for us, but our friends in a regular room were across the parking lot and could not get... More

If you are wanting a Marriott experience this is not the place for you. Don't get me wrong we love the Marriott/Hyatt as much as the next guy and this is NOT it. We read the reviews and looked at the pictures so we were very aware of what we were getting. We booked solely based on price and location.... More
