Five rooms not as advertised, requested all on first floor got one room on first floor. Said they had kings and queens only kings and full. One room had roaches. Front desk not too friendly. Hotel is very dated. Little restaurant next door is great though.

First of all, this place was cheap. $65 dollars during nautical flea market week, making it 'dirt cheap' literally and figuratively. Expectations were not high, but we were still grossed out. Leading with the positives, the room was large and freshly painted. Although teeny tiny, they did have flat screen TVs, even if comically they were dollhouse size. They also... More

We just stayed at the Sunset Inn four nights in January. As other reviewers have stated, this is an older hotel, and it has pluses and minuses. By far the biggest plus is the price. The Sunset Inn and it's sisters, the Blue Finn and Key Lantern, are the cheapest places to stay in the Keys. By a mile. Let's... More

We stayed three nights in a kitchenette suite near the pool. It was large, but very basic, the bed was comfortable, the pillows were terribly flat, there is no coffee, shampoo or even a hair dryer in the suite. The wifi worked for us, but our friends in a regular room were across the parking lot and could not get... More

If you are wanting a Marriott experience this is not the place for you. Don't get me wrong we love the Marriott/Hyatt as much as the next guy and this is NOT it. We read the reviews and looked at the pictures so we were very aware of what we were getting. We booked solely based on price and location.... More

This place is not Hilton, but it's a good place to stay for the price. It needs updates and renovation, but the location is very good. Our rooms were clean, and quite roomy, and we had fresh towels every day. Comfy mattresses. NO BUGS (only small, funny lizards outside). Pool area and grounds are pretty clean. No problem with parking,... More

My family stayed here 2 nights in December 2014. It was a lousy room for the $$ with absolutely no maid service. Beds were not made, trash was not emptied, no exhaust fan in bathroom, no blankets on beds, and even had to request clean wash cloths for 2nd night. Although the manager was notified, she was not concerned. We... More

I am sorry you had a bad experience. Guess our communication was lacking because the day you did not get maid service was Christmas day. We did not do maid service on Christmas since most of the maids have children and they wanted to be with them. We were trying to do the family thing and get them home asap.... More

We spent Labor day weekend at the Sunset inn. Since we were arriving late, I did receive a call to make sure our travel plans had not changed. We checked in just fine, to room 118. It has a kitchenette and is on the corner. Very clean room, the floors were clean, bathroom clean, linens clean. The pillows are sad,... More

My husband and I stayed there from 8/19-8/21 of 2014 and will stay there again, the staff was very friendly and the room was very clean and again I say there were no bugs. We are divers and had our gear in the room with us and there was still plenty of room for our stay. They are updating on... More

We were in the keys last about 6 years ago and stayed at the Sunset Inn, really enjoyed it then. We were just there again last week and was nicely surprised again, the staff is as friendly and helpful as they get. Our room was cleaned daily. Every day after fishing we came in to fresh towels and clean room.... More

So glad you remembered us after 6 years. Thanks for the Great reveiw The maids work hard at keeping the rooms clean. Hope you caught some fish. Fall is a great time to come back to the Keys. There are not as many people and the weather is great. Thanks again. Come see us soon. More
