Travelers' Choice
The "Queen of the Florida Keys", Cheeca Lodge & Spa has been an exclusive hideaway for celebrities, business leaders and U.S. Presidents for over 70 years. Set on 27 private oceanfront acres in Islamorada, Cheeca has been constructed with a porte-cochere entrance, traditional Florida Keys architecture and spirited tradition of “barefoot elegance” -- a term coined at Cheeca. Along with a coffee bar and top-shelf lobby bar, Cheeca boasts three distinctive restaurants: Atlantic’s Edge, Cheeca’s flagship restaurant offering a seasonal fine-dining menu of fresh local seafood, prime steaks and organic local produce, Nikai Sushi Bar and Restaurant offering the Florida Keys’ freshest sushi, Asian-inspired fare and a unique selection of Japanese sake and wine; and family-friendly Mia Cucina restaurant transporting Naples, Italy into the heart of Islamorada serving up made to order artisan pizzas, pastas and salads.

Reviews Summary

Powered by AI
Cheeca Lodge & Spa is often celebrated for its enchanting atmosphere that pairs ocean views with live music, drawing couples seeking a romantic retreat. Nestled in a coveted location, it offers guests easy access to nearby dining and attractions. However, opinions on room quality are divided, with some guests enjoying the comfort and views, while others point out maintenance shortcomings. The resort's amenities, including water sports and pools, are a hit, albeit marred by occasional service hiccups. Despite the allure, some visitors question the value, noting steep prices for food and services.

Beautiful property & Amazing Sea-View rooms! I would highly recommend the sea view room with the claw tub. The result is ethereal and the food is amazing. I didn't know whether to stay in the room or enjoy the beach because both are equally beautiful.

The service at pool and restaurants was terrible! Food & drinks took hours to get & orders were usually wrong & food was cold by time it arrived. Staff seemed annoyed to be doing their job. Will not return!

We can't say enough good things about this beautiful resort. Perfect for families with adventurous kids. The food, pools, and atmosphere were top-notch. We plan to make this a yearly trip for our family!

Expensive mistake. Our group required adjoining rooms and reserved months prior to our trip. When we arrived not only were our adjoining rooms given away - our five families were placed in different buildings. The rooms were substandard and not worth the nightly rate. Pools were nice and restaurant food was good. Resort staff was not accommodating when they botched our group reservation.

We loved our stay here! It’s such a gorgeous resort! Wonderful dining options and amenities! I loved doing yoga on the beach at sunrise as well! We look forward to coming back and staying at Cheeca in the future!

Currently, staying March 9 - 16, 2024. We are here on spring break. The minute you drive through the gated Entry you can feel yourself relaxing. (We were here briefly 27 years ago for one night and said we definitely wanted to come back!) This hotel and spa does not disappoint. Waterfront, Beach front, Three restaurants overlooking the water. Open air bar, Live music on the sand, Adirondack chairs and fire pits in the evening. The landscaping is gorgeous, Fire tikis throughout the property at night. Included in your stay: Pilates, Yoga in the morning, sunset yoga, water arobics, fitness center, lap pool/adult pool, large family pool, Kiddie pool, 2 hot tubs, 9 hole golf with equipment, Bikes, table Tennis, corn hole, several Regular tennis courts/balls/rackets, pickleball courts/ paddles/ balls, fishing poles with real shrimp bait, Kayaking. (Plus Many more!) Free shuttle to anywhere-- 2 miles away or less. Many excursions right from the Cheeka pier. Rooms were well appointed, Crown molding, sound proof, daily maid service, spa shower/ rain shower, VERY DEEP, not-jetted tub. Coffee maker/granite counter tops/ceiling fans/ great a/c, large bottles shampoo/body wash/ conditioner, large SAFE in the room. 4 Bottles of water given to you every day, Refrigerator. COMFY BEDS, 6 fluffy pillows. Screened in lanai with 3 chairs/table. Shops on premises. It's pricy, we stayed 8 nights, 2 rooms, and we NEVER wanted to leave. 2 miles to Publix/CVS/dive shops. I met a nice family on the pier As I was fishing --and the wife admitted that they were not staying here at CHEEKA, They were just here for the sunset charter. She told me: " we are staying next door and after being over here--- I can see that was a big mistake." It's pricey, it is DEFINITELY worth it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

The bad: Housekeeping stole my $500 Burberry bathing suit out of my room. It’s hard to stay at a place you cannot trust! Will report back with management’s corrective remedy. Thoroughly enjoyed all other aspects of the resort. Such a shame!

Great location. Crowded pool with lots of kids whose parents were not supervising. The young parents were rude to staff and guests. Staff did well Will return next season. May try the Bungalows. Maids were great

Cheeca Lodge is a wonderful resort. Beautiful property, very nice rooms and facilities. Good service, good food. The only drawback is the cost. Everything is a la carte, and it all adds up. We went there just relax in warm weather for 6 days, and it was perfect, just what we wanted. Would definitely go there again.
