My husband and I stayed at the Islander in late September. We were very pleased with the low off-season rates. Although off-season, all the amenities were superb and the staff was very friendly. The Islander is now "pet friendly" and we brought our small dog. Our room was furthest from the beach and pool but still just a very short... More

we overnighted at Islander resort en route to key west, and wish we stopped our journey there! other reviewers have mentioned the older style motel rooms, noisy air con and fridge took me back 30 years to my first Keys visit, the room we stayed in was old style but it was clean and the bed was comfy. We arrived... More

My wife and I stayed in mid-September. Weather was mild and water was warm. We really enjoyed sailing from Islander Watersports located at the resort. They have all kinds of toys from sailboats to bicycles, kayaks and fishing poles. If you are looking to do more than just lay on a beach or by the pool it is really nice... More

We stayed two nights in an oceanfront room in building 6 which is not attached to the main buildings. This property has older motel type rooms in the center of the property. The beach area is man-made, so there is no 'real' sand type of beachfront, more like a parking lot with beach chairs, but is still nice. The pool... More

My two young daughters and I needed a quick getaway from Ft. Lauderdale. What a great surprise the Islander Resort was! Less than 2 hours away, it was clean, has spacious rooms (a bit outdate in decor - but that did not matter at all!), great pools, fantastic hammocks, beautiful beach, great watersports and fun dock! I had never heard... More

You can see the ocean from literally every room at this resort and every room has it's own private screend in patio with ceiling fans to keep cool. The rooms are very nice, updated and clean as are the pools and the grounds which also offer countless BBQ, volley ball court and basketball court. This is not a fancy resort... More

We have been staying at the Islander Resort for years and have enjoyed it very much. The food at the Tiki bar is excellent and not your normal bar fare -- try the crab cakes - they're delicious! The staff is friendly and accommodating. The rooms are very clean and have screened in back porches, which are a nice touch.... More

The location is great and yes-the food is great at the tiki bar. Water sports were fun; the snorkeling trip to the reef is fantastic. The continental breakfast was adequate but not something to get excited about. Accomodations are really not what appears on the web site. It really is strip rows of old motel rooms that have not seen... More

Although my wife and I live just 'up the road' in Hallandale, just 2 hours away, every time we go to Islamorada we love the place. We've stayed at a few nice hotels there, and The Islander was really a treat. We took one of the Ocean view rooms for a couple of nights. The beach was right outside our... More
