Slow elevators are the least of your worries. The Islander Beach Resort is ridiculously over priced for a building that has not been renovated since the 80's. The 80's called and want their hotel back! The pool was clean and the staff were friendly but the interior was disgusting. We could live with dated decor but the building was run... More

Great place for laid back fun. Nice clean rooms and the beach area isn't real sandy but was great for snorkeling. We saw lobsters and stingrays. We even got a Mahi Mahi from a local charter fishermen and grilled it at our room. The hammocks behind the rooms was nice to nap in. We'll be back

What a joke. There are so many faults in this place... 1)The people in the reception and the staff is totally uninterested in service. Why do they have a job In the service business? They should be in a factory or in a mine! 2) the rooms are from the 80's. Extremley bad taste. 3) dirty rooms 4) EXTREMELY poor... More

We stayed on the bay side because we have a boat and it's prefect for what we wanted to do. The boat is right next to the room and the pool is open til 10. Rooms are real clean and plenty of space. Love it!

My family of 4, two adults and two adult children enjoyed everything and we will be back, hopefully every year. Laid back, pleasant, beautiful scenery. Everyone was very nice and the facility was beautiful. Suggestions for improvement would be the water pressure in the shower and to flush toilets could be improved and if you're going to have a kitchenette... More

We booked this hotel at the last minute for 2 nights (Aug. 5 and 6), and got one of the last rooms remaining, with a courtyard view. I was happily surprised that although the room was part of the second to last cluster, we had a nice view of the courtyard and the ocean (in the distance). The beach is... More

We stayed for one night as part of our honeymoon. We arrived at 3pm and room not ready on arrival, we were given an alternative time to check in. On returning to reception we had to wait a further hour. No communication between maintenance and front desk and an extremely hostile attitude from staff, particularly the blonde female manager who... More

I was there for a family wedding and there was a problem with the location of the room I was assigned in relation to the rest of the family. The resort was booked but Christine tried very hard to get me closer to my family. She was able to the last night I was there. Everyone was very helpful ..Christine,... More

The Islander has been our to go vacation destination for several years now. You can enjoy Caribbean beaches and unique island atmosphere and the food is first class, In addition it is only one hour driving distance to Miami for the shopper connoisseur!

Hello AzucenaD- Thank you for your nice post. Miami shopping is good, but, I have to say Islamorada has some very cool little shops and galleries too. Be sure you check out these great places on your next visit which is hopefully very soon : ) - http://guyharveyoutpostislamorada.com/area-information/attractions-shopping More
