Smugglers' Cove is a tiny resort in Islamorada with, I believe, 12 rooms. The rooms are part of the marina, so there were boats docked right outside our room. The room was clean and comfortable. We ate at the restaurant one night and listened to the live band for a while. The food was great, and the bar/restaurant were not... More

Difficult ingress, as usual; however, road work makes it more problematic. Egress remains challenging, too. Happy Hour drink discounts hinge on consuming 2 cocktails, rather than 50% per. With all the grand promotion, it's not unreasonable to expect great improvements.

I normally do not submit bad reviews, but this happened to multiple people on the same night and I do not want anyone else to experience what myself and a few others had to go through. I own a Dive Center in Naples, Fl. and we are in Islamorada, Fl. nearly every weekend. So we are not new to the... More

I stayed here with my husband during January 2015. As other recent reviewers have noted, this hotel has recently undergone MAJOR updates. Some of the older reviews don't reflect the current conditions at all. We stayed in an upper level room, which was bright, clean, and included a small stainless refrigerator, countertop, and sink. Very nice and neat. Bed linens... More

I stayed here with my husband on New Year's day 2015. Looks like the place has been completely renovated. The room looked brand new; the sheets and furniture also seemed new. The decor had a modern touch to it. The a/c was cold. The resort has a nice atmosphere and the sundeck has modern patio furniture and daybeds with very... More

Just spent two nights in this just renovated hotel. Rooms had all new furnishings with a tropical flare. Sits on the water with A marina with easy ocean access. We ate in the restaurant with an excellent and attentive staff. New menu with lots of yummy appetizers and many fresh fish choices. Soon they will have stocked pond where you... More

The restaurant and bar are really nice. They serve good food at a decent price and the drinks are nice and tight and priced right. The hotel on the other hand needs updating badly. The marina is very nice and it looks like they put a lot of work into it. They have a very nice little cabana area out... More

I recently stayed at smugglers cove, it was the absolute dirtiest place imaginable. The room had this smell of throw up and cat urine, while the yellow walls were only painted up to where the painters arm could reach (guess they cant afford a ladder). The floors looked they were never washed just had this weird film on them??? As... More

We recently stayed at the smugglers cove. If I had to describe our stay in one word it would be HORRIFIC! When you walk in the room they have air fresheners hanging firm the ceiling fan and the ac unit. First thing we find is the maids money envelope that they leave to reuse for each guest. I turn it... I live locally. Did not stay at the hotel. Kept hearing ads and rumors of there great hamburgers so had the opportunity to stop by and try one. Burger was very good, at least a half pound. It was cooked as specified (med. rare) served on a lightly toasted steamed bun. Juicy, nice flavor. Had the coleslaw as a side,... More
